Last week, while promoting his upcoming movie Isle of Dogs, Jeff Goldblum teased the potential return of Dr. Ellie Sattler in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. He told ET on the red carpet that he would be thrilled if the character returned:
Laura Dern has expressed for years now that she would happily return to the franchise, and with franchise veteran Jeff Goldblum now teasing it as a possibility, it might not be too long before we see paleobotanist Dr. Ellie Sattler dealing with dinosaurs again.
In an interview with Andy Cohen, Jeff Goldblum further teased the character’s return by hinting at their reunion in the Jurassic World 3, which is slated to release in June of 2021.
An caller on the show asked him to clarify if he was serious when he mentioned the return of her character, which led to a rather coy response. Watch for yourself below:
His demeanor definitely shifts when the question is asked, and his expression hints that this may be more than a rumour. The actor says:
“I don’t know for sure – I can’t divulge anything… but maybe she will… There’s going to be another one, which some people may or may not be in. That’s all I can say.”
This is by no means a confirmation of Ellie’s return in the upcoming sequel, but it is beginning to sound like both Laura Dern and Sam Neill may have a cameo appearance in Jurassic World 3. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!
Last December at CCXP in Brazil, Iron Studios revealed their first official Jurassic Park collectible item – a huge diorama statue based on the T. rex breakout scene. The statue included a section of the main road including the security fences, both Ford Explorer tour vehicles, the infamous Lady Rex, Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm, and even Tim and Lex!
The separate pieces in this diorama statue were initially only going to be distributed in Iron Studios’ home country of Brazil, however thanks to a deal with Texas-based company Chronicle Collectibles, the statue will now see distribution worldwide!
The 1/10 scale T. rex is a limited edition statue, hand-painted and crafted in polystone. Based on the main road sequence from the 1993 film, where the park’s main attraction breaks through the fences and attacks the tour group, this huge piece will distribute at the end of this year and is now available to pre-order through Chronicle’s website.
While this is a limited edition piece, the exact number count has not yet been decided, but if you are wanting to purchase this item then I wouldn’t wait around!
She measures 44cm in height and reaches 85cm end-to-end! As always with Chronicle, multiple payment plans are available to help you break down the cost, with the full price sitting at $649. With the weight estimated to be around 20lbs, this truly is a whopping collectible – made even bigger with the additional pieces!
Not only can you now purchase the T. rex from this diorama, now the 1/10 scale human figures are both available for pre-order too! Dr. Grant and Dr. Malcolm are available for $89 each, a modest price considering the colouring and detail!
Also shipping towards the end of the year, these collectible statues will come on a unique based featuring the Jurassic Park logo and weigh roughly 8lbs each.
These statues will look fantastic on their own, but if you’re keen for the whole diorama piece then more items are set to be announced this year with pricing and sizing info. For now, Chronicle have released this info:
This initial offering from Iron Studios represents just a small piece of a much larger complete diorama set that will also eventually be distributed by Chronicle Collectibles. Iron Studios, in coordination with Chronicle Collectibles, plans to release new pieces of the diorama over time, culminating in a complete 1/10 scale “T-Rex Attack” diorama once all pieces are assembled.
Iron Studios spared no expense when announcing this diorama piece at CCXP, with a full size T. rex statue towering over their display and a screen accurate tour vehicle available for photos ops. Their display was surrounded with foliage which makes the diorama piece really stand out.
Read more on CCXP by checking out our write-up from last December, and head to Chronicle’s official website to pre-order these items!
What do you make of Iron Studios’ officially licensed Jurassic Park collectibles? Will you be adding this diorama to your collection? Let us know in the comments section below.
Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed that Jeff Goldblum will not only return in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but will also reprise his iconic role in the upcoming video game, set for release this year!
In the announcement video above, the actor endorses the upcoming game by Frontier:
“I’m going to be with you the whole game as Dr. Ian Malcolm. I highly recommend it – it gets 10 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums. That’s my highest rating.”
While you will not be able to play as Ian Malcolm, the character will return in the game in an advisory role to guide you through the decision making process, much like the voices that guided you through the gameplay in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.
Not only will be see the Goldblum return on screens this Summer, we will also hear his tender tones in the new video game.
Jurassic World: Evolution is set for release this Summer on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was announced at GamesCon 2017 and will put you in charge of the world’s greatest tourist destination – Jurassic World.
Jurassic World composer Michael Giacchino announced today that he has begun recording the music for Fallen Kingdom!
In a tweet that was accompanied by a photo taken inside the recording studio, the composer revealed the news to fans, which signifies that the film itself is very likely picture locked.
Michael Giacchino has previously composed the score for Jurassic World in 2015, and has a history of working with the franchise with credits that include video games Warpath: Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
With J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World sequel, Fallen Kingdom looking like it’s adopting a slightly darker route than it’s predecessor, do you hope the music follows suit? Do you think we will be hearing more of a The Lost World: Jurassic Park inspired score for our second outing to Isla Nublar, this side of the millennium?
Only time will tell, so stay tuned to Jurassic Outpost for all the latest news and be sure to follow the man himself for hopefully more Fallen Kingdom teases.
Now that I see her she’s the most beautiful thing I ever saw…
Chronicle Collectibles are fulfilling Dr. Alan Grant’s collectible wishes this year, with the announcement of their first Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary item – the Sick Triceratops.
io9 first reported the announcement of this 1:35 scale model, which measures 13″ long, 11″ wide and 4″ tall. Check out the piece below!
The model will set you back $449 but as with every release from Chronicle, there are multiple payment plans available to ensure you can obtain one of these limited edition pieces.
The pre-orders began today for the item – while there is currently not an official number count, these pieces are limited edition and will likely sell out relatively quick, so hit up the official page here with more photos, information and details on how to pre-order!
For many Jurassic Park fans, the reveal of the Sick Triceratops remains one of the most iconic scenes in the entire film. The wonder and amazement in the eyes of Dr. Grant and Ellie as they gaze upon this ailing dinosaur are shared by us as the audience. The scene is fully convincing in making us believe dinosaurs roam the earth again; it’s one of the clearest examples of why cinema has such a powerful impact on us.
Now, fans can own a piece of that movie magic. Chronicle Collectibles presents to you the 1:35 scale Jurassic Park: Sick Triceratops Diorama, the first and only licensed high-end collectible for this beloved dinosaur.
To ensure we had the finest details correct, we brought in legendary dinosaur painter Steve Riojas to paint the masters to perfection. You will never a find a better licensed Sick Triceratops ever offered; we have poured our heart and soul into this piece to make it something fans will be proud to own and display.
Alongside this, Chronicle have announced a wealth of new items including a 1:1 scale The Lost World: Jurassic Park Velociraptor head bust molded and cast directly from a Stan Winston Studios original Velociraptor – meaning this is a screen accurate piece!
Last year the company released the same model with a Jurassic Park ‘Isla Nublar’ skin which quickly sold out. The piece weighs 72 pounds and measures in at 30″ tall – so this will dominate any room you showcase it in!
Fans of The Lost World can also revel in this model of InGen’s Pachycephalosaurus. For only $399 you can own this highly detailed cast of the defensive herbivore, molded directly from Stan Winston Studios’ maquettes, originally created for the Jurassic Park sequel.
This item is limited to only 150 pieces so if you are a true The Lost World fan (if you’re not, please close your web browser and re-evaluate your stance) this might be worth your pennies.
And of course, if you caught our article last week, the last (but certainly not least) of Chronicle’s latest Jurassic products is the bronze Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Adapted from their previous Breakout piece, this features a brand new streamlined base, putting the focus on the dinosaur with its bronze finish. Measuring in at 24″ long, 9″ wide and 10″ tall, and set on a 9″ diameter base, this piece is a must have!
Chronicle Collectibles have continued to knock it out of the park with their officially licensed Jurassic Park products and I’m excited to see more as we progress through the year! What items would you like to see Chronicle next debut?
Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to give Chronicle a follow on their socialmediachannels for more information on their products and some behind the scenes looks at their design process!
It seems like only yesterday we were eagerly anticipating the first trailer reveal from Jurassic World. And now, two years on, we have the first trailer for the follow-up Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! Watch it below!
Remarkable. In just under seven months we will return to Isla Nublar for the very last time and witness the volcanic disaster that threatens the fate of the dinosaurs. Here’s the official plot synopsis:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
Universal Pictures debuted the first trailer for the sequel, directed by J.A. Bayona, at the Falcons/Saints Thursday Night Football game on NBC, which coincided with an online release.
Check out some HD screenshots from the trailer below!
The past week has been Jurassic-filled with numerous teases and a fantastic behind the scenes look at the film!
So what do you think of the very first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? What is your current level of excitement for the new film that hits theaters next June? Let us know in the comments below and on our forums!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom goes where Jurassic has never gone before! The latest tease has arrived today which features brand new footage showcasing a variety of scenes in the movie, and gives us an incredibly exciting look behind the scenes! Watch below:
Where to begin? Firstly, wow! I’ve been cautious not to get too excited for the Jurassic World sequel but this video has brought out my inner child – and he loves it! I sat motionless for three minutes while I ingested this detailed look at Fallen Kingdom, and now I’m truly excited!
It looks as though J.A. Bayona has truly captured that “Jurassic” feel that I personally felt was missing from Jurassic World. The cinematography, the animatronics, the Malcolm! From set pieces to costumes, it feels like all of the elements are in place for this to be a true Jurassic Park movie.
Let’s dig in!
We open on a shot of Lockwood Manor – high in the hills in California lives Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). As many predicted, the first photo released from Fallen Kingdom takes place inside this mansion and features Maisie – a young girl played by Brooke Norbury. We see a number of scenes take place inside this location with a multitude of characters.
Speaking of characters, we see a number of the cast members in this video including Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Ted Levine and of course, Jeff Goldblum!
We see Dr. Ian Malcolm in a court room, very likely testifying against Jurassic World. This is the first time we have seen Malcolm since 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and it’s mesmerizing watching him again.
There is so much to see in this video including a look at Neal Scanlan’s animatronic work which is looking spectacular! The T-Rex seen in yesterday’s tease is shown in this video revealing the level of detail that has gone into it, along with a number of new species:
This movie is big; the stakes have been raised. There are a number of elements at play here, a wealth of new characters being thrown into the mix and a number of locations on offer, including the return to Isla Nublar for the last time.
Our very own Asees breaks down the extended look at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in a new video below:
How excited are you after watching today’s tease? There is a lot in this one video for us to ingest, and to think that tomorrow will bring a FULL TRAILER for the movie well, this really is a great time to be a fan.
The teases keep on coming in this Jurassic-filled week! Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed a new screenshot from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, showing a dinosaur never before seen in the franchise staring down Bryce Dallas Howard and Justice Smith’s characters!
The location appears to be a maintenance room and judging from the previous teases this week, the Baryonyx appears to enter the room via a dark tunnel. Many have speculated that this could be one of the geothermal stations situated on Isla Nublar.
Along with this screenshot reveal, EW gaves us more insight into the plot of the movie and the characters that front it.
“Claire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island. She reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening. When you see them at the beginning of this story, you get caught up as to what’s going on, but it’s not what you would necessarily expect.”
The article also adds Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith’s characters to the Dinosaur Protection Group and quotes director J.A. Bayona discussing the return of Jeff Goldlbum’s character:
“I had to overcome the impact of being in front of Ian Malcolm. After so many years, Jeff Goldblum was in front of a camera again talking about dinosaurs!”
But the teases don’t stop there! The official Jurassic World account shared this photo of Baby Blue with Owen, which was seen a week ago in the very first footage that was released for Fallen Kingdom. Now we have a full body look at “Baby Blue” and can see more about their location – which appears to be a nursery.
Universal Pictures were kind enough to send us another screenshot of the above scene which shows off slightly more of Blue – her baby sickle claws:
Our very own Asees breaks down all of the above in a new video – check it out below!
