Filming is taking place near Cache Creek, a location a little outside of the small town of Merritt in British Columbia, Canada. Not much is known about the shoot, but snow can be seen on the ground in the image shared by Colin Trevorrow, possibly indicating a dramatic change of scenery for the dinosaurs to roam the earth. Also notable in the images is the return of the classic Jurassic Park logo colors – we hope that sticks in place for the final official logo reveal!

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, BD Wong, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Dichen Lachman, Scott Haze, and Isabella Sermon. ‘Dominion’ was written by Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, with Trevorrow directing.

Stay tuned, as more news is sure to follow, and welcome back to Jurassic World.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is coming to Netflix in August 2020 – First Plot Details, Characters, and Dinosaurs Revealed!

While ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’ (an all-new animated series from Dreamworks coming to Netflix this year) has remained an exciting mystery since its reveal last year, we finally have our first official information and look at the show outside of the initial tease… from tie-in merchandise. That’s right – New York Toy Fair and Mattel have given us our first real glimpse into the dinos from the show – but before we go there, let’s take a look at the tie-in books discovered by Collect Jurassic which reveal new information and the shows August 2020 release date!

Season One of Camp Cretaceous will have a tie-in novel, which is available to Pre-order on Amazon now! Thanks to it, we have an expanded synopsis, character name, and release date for Season One of the anticipated show

Get lost in the dangerous world of dinosaurs with this Deluxe Junior Novelization based on Season One of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous–the exciting new series premiering on Netflix in August 2020!

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous–the exciting new television series on Netflix–follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar–the home of the Jurassic World theme park. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive. Told from dino-nerd Darius’s point of view, this action-packed novelization expands on the amazing first season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and features eight pages of full color images and a poster!

While most of that information was known, we now know one of the lead campers names: Darius. However, the larger reveals are coming straight from the press kit from Universal Pictures for Mattel’s toy fair lineup. Warning – some my consider these light spoilers!

First off, meet Bumpy the baby Ankylosaurus – an important dinosaurs that the campers in the show end up bonding with. This little baby may be cute, but its parents are likely right around the corner, and ready to bulldoze.

Now meet “Toro” the Carnotaurus, one of the shows main antagonistic dinosaurs which will terrorize the campers as they’re stranded on Isla Nublar. Not much is known about the dangerous dino, but we can see it’s been in many fights, and sports some fresh wounds on its face.

Apparently ‘all’ of the toys on the table below are actually based on Camp Cretaceous dinosaurs – let’s take a look: new Barynonyx (more on that later), Mussasaurus, Ceratosaurus, Raptors, Parasaurolophus (with an interesting metallic paint – again more on that later), Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Indominus Rex, and Tyrannosaurus Rex

Now let’s get into the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reveal via the official press assets for the upcoming mini dinosaurs! Again, potential spoilers.

First off, notice there are three uniquely named Baryonyx characters – “Grim”, “Chaos”, and “Limbo” – which are labeled the same way Carnotaurus “Toro” is. This explains why there are different Baryonyx toys seen on the show floor vs press kit. Next, there is a surprising description tag for the Parasaurolophus — bioluminescent. Does that explain the metallic paint on the Sound Strike toy? Take a closer look below!

Baryonyx “Grim”

Baryonyx “Limbo”

Baryonyx “Chaos”

Pasaurolophus (Bioluminescent)

While we can only guess as to what roles these unique dinosaurs may play in the show, we’re incredibly excited to learn and see more in the future! While that’s it for the major reveals, we suspect a few more toys revealed may actually be from “Camp Cretaceous” – don’t quote us on it, but we’re betting the dino that looks to be a Troodon is from the line, as is the new Plesiosaurus. Take a look at our top guess for toys from the show!

Suspected Camp Cretaceous Toys

The Mattel toys will all be available later this year, and Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season one debuts on Netflix in August. Stay tuned, as we’re sure more official information about the show outside of merchandise can’t be far away!

It Begins: Jurassic World 3 has begun filming on Vancouver Island, Canada!

Hold on to your butts, Jurassic World 3 has officially entered the primary start of its production with filming commencing.

Reports have recently shared that sixth Jurassic Park sequel was set to film around Vancouver in British Columbia, we knew to keep our eyes peeled. Thanks to CTV News, we learned earlier today that filming was due to start this week in Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island — and now fans on the ground have confirmed cameras are rolling!

The signs in the picture above that state GFP stand for Gramercy Films Productions, the production company Jurassic World 3 (under the working title of “Arcadia”) is filming under. The filming will close certain trailers for portions of time, and feature drone cameras capturing footage. Fans are reporting that the drone itself can be spotted, but not much else:

While we don’t know much about what’s going on, In an appearance on talk-show Ellen, Chris Pratt dubbed Jurassic World 3 as feeling like Avengers: Endgame, in that the movie will bring back numerous characters and according to the actor himself – “it’s got pretty much everybody in it” – and he went to confirm he was leaving for Canada today to begin filming:

Chris adds “All the cast from the original Jurassic Park are coming back… it’s going to feel like how Endgame brought everything together”

Are you excited for Jurassic World 3 to begin filming? It’s almost a weird feeling to think that we waited a very long time for the fourth entry into the franchise and here we are, discussing the sixth Jurassic Park movie.

Stay tuned as more exciting news is sure to drop soon!

Jake Johnson and Omar Sy returning for Jurassic World 3

Lowery Cruthers and Barry Sembène are back! Collider has exclusively learned and reported that both Jake Johnson and Omar Sy will be reprising their roles in 2021’s Jurassic World 3. The report has since been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter and director Colin Trevorrow himself!

Jake Johnson and Omar Sy, who co-starred in 2015’s Jurassic World, are set to reprise their roles in Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World 3, Collider has exclusively learned.

We have not seen Jake Johnson’s Lowery or Omar Sy’s Barry since the collapse of the Jurassic World theme park in 2015, so it will be interesting to see what they have been up to during the six year span between on screen appearances. Will Blue remember her trainer who worked alongside Owen Grady? Does Lowery still have his collection of toy dinosaurs and poor taste t-shirts?

The cast for Jurassic World 3, which has a yet to be announced official title, is shaping up to have a Jurassic sized cast of returning stars and characters. In addition to Jake Johnson and Omar Sy returning, the 6th Jurassic film will also see the return of Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, BD Wong, Danielle Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon and original Jurassic Park trilogy stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Joining the Jurassic film franchise family for the first time are Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise.

What are your thoughts on Jake Johnson and Omar Sy returning for the Jurassic World 3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and on our forums.

Also shout out to We Got This Covered who first reported the rumor of Jake Johnson returning this past Tuesday

Jurassic World 3 Casting Extras For British Columbia Shoot Later This Month!

Jurassic World 3 - BC 1

[Image from Trade and Invest British Columbia]

It looks like the pre-production phase of Jurassic World 3 may almost be over – as our good friend Reel News Hawaii stumbled upon a casting call for the upcoming production in Merritt, British Columbia which evidence points to being Jurassic World 3, AKA ‘Arcadia’ (Update: it has since been confirmed to be casting for Jurassic World 3 by the British Columbia Film Commissioner).

Merritt is a smaller town about 3 hours outsid of Vancouver, with surrounding area featuring landscape which looks incredibly cinematic – with gorgeous, sprawling vistas, woodlands and hills creating a truly picturesque location which is bound to translate well when it comes to the big screen. It also looks quite a bit like where we last saw Blue the Velociraptor at the end of Fallen Kingdon.

This also matches up with additional information which we at Jurassic Outpost learned some time back, which pointed to the production heading to the Cache Creek area for some of the production time in Canada. Cache Creek is a village in British Columbia not too far from Merritt – so it certainly seems as though some of the shoot will be taking place in the surrounding areas.

The excitement doesn’t end there, however, as the casting call itself does have a few interesting details which we wanted to break down.

As we can see from the casting call in question, the casting agency are looking for both males and females to play Mill Workers, Fishermen and Townsfolk as part of the feature film. This could potentially suggest that the film will include sequences where we see civilians interacting with the dinosaurs – something which could be an interesting and meaningful way of picking up from the end of Battle at Big Rock. Indeed, a Carnotaurus rampaging through a busy mill, tearing it apart, or a Mosasaurus hunting down fishing ships in a Jaws-esque homage certainly sounds appealing and fulfilling for some initial set pieces within the film.

Regardless of whether this news has you excited or not, I think it is safe to say that this confirms that we may be seeing more than our standard isolated dinosaur incidents. It certainly looks like Jurassic World 3 is ramping up to provide larger-scale, city-sprawling events which will have real implications and ramifications for the world which our characters inhabit. How these events escalate within the new film, and how our return cast of characters will tackle them is entirely up to debate right now – but it is exciting to know that production on the third instalment of the Jurassic World saga is now within reaching distance.

As previously stated in an update to the article, the casting call has since been confirmed to be for Jurassic World 3! This is bound to be an exciting opportunity for anyone who lives in the area – and we encourage any readers living in British Columbia to get involved in this project. You never know – you might just see a dinosaur…
