Independent Writers Pitch ‘John Hammond’ Prequel Story

A team of independent writers have collaborated with concept artists to realize an idea that focuses on the founder of Jurassic Park himself, John Parker Hammond.

The team have written a story that portrays a young John Hammond as he explores his early ventures that led to the creation of the infamous dinosaur park.

Synopsis:

IN THE BEGINNING

When “Jurassic Park” was first published over 30 years ago, no one could have predicted this science fiction/adventure novel would spawn a multi-billion dollar franchise with six feature films, a cartoon, comic books, video games, and enough merchandise to please any 10 year-old. However, while audiences have learned more about the central figures in the original film, and enjoyed additions to the cast of characters in the proceeding years, the audience has never really learned much more about the man behind the park, John Hammond.

“Hammond” is designed to be a limited series, starting with the titular character working as a poor performer in early 1950s Petticoat Lane with his suitcase flea circus, and ending with him setting out to gather a group of scientists, two children, and one unwanted lawyer to give them an adventure they’d never forget. Bringing back dinosaurs from extinction was no easy task, and “Hammond” chronicles the blood, sweat, tears, and determination it took to do so.

The two writers spearheading the project have encapsulated their vision in the form of both artwork and dioramas that they intend to share it – along with their storybook – with the gatekeepers of the franchise in the hopes of inspiring this story to life.

If handled correctly, is a prequel series or movie focusing on the legendary character of John Hammond something you would like to see? Let us know in the comments section down below!

‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ Season Two Teaser – Comes 2021!

Baryonyx, Ceratosaurs, and Tyrannosaurs – oh my! The trailer for Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 2 is here, and it is not shy about bringing new dinosaur species to the table.

Making its debut ahead of the New York Comic Con panel later today, the trailer is available on YouTube below:

As we predicted in our recent season two video, we will be seeing the original T. rex on Main Street, and we can see that the campers do indeed head back there, and spend some time in T. rex Kingdom.

A Baryonyx was also revealed in the teaser, and this ties to the recent Mattel toy reveals showing three individual Baryonyx – Grim, Limbo, and Chaos.

The gang may have survived the initial Indominus Rex attack, but they now have a lot more to contend with in the deep jungles of Isla Nublar. With the security systems down and the fences broken, dinosaurs are now free.

One of the species making an appearance will be the Ceratosaurus who first made her appearance in everybody’s favourite Jurassic Park 3.

New VR Video Game ‘Jurassic World Aftermath’ Announced for Oculus Quest

Earlier this year we discovered that Universal Pictures had trademarked Jurassic World Aftermath. While we initially thought this could be a revival of the cancelled video game Jurassic World Survivor, today the announcement came for a new VR video game for Oculus Quest.

The game is set two years after the fall of Jurassic World and is set on Isla Nublar. See the description below:

Set two years after the fall of Jurassic World, the suspenseful Jurassic World Aftermath sends you back to Isla Nublar in search of confidential research materials lost in the evacuation. The problem? A crash landing has left you stranded in the rundown ruins of a now-abandoned research facility—and deadly Velociraptors stalk your every move. You’ll have to rely on your wits (and a bit of luck) to escape the island alive in this tense and thrilling adventure from Oculus, Universal Games and Digital Platforms, and Coatsink Games.

And check out the trailer:

While many were eagerly anticipating a triple-A game for major gaming consoles, unfortunately for now only users of the Oculus will be able to play this Jurassic adventure.

Either way, Jurassic World Aftermath looks like it could be a lot of fun, so let us know in the comments section down below if you have an Oculus Quest and if you’ll be playing the game.
