Freshly hatched out of the labs of Chronicle Collectibles is a all new statue of an all time favorite Jurassic Park dinosaur: the Dilophosaurus! This dinosaur has not been seen outside of the original Jurassic film (with two Easter Egg cameos in the Jurassic World films), but is as popular today as it was in 1993. This new 1/4th scale statue is the closest you can come to officially owning the iconic carnivorous creature – check it out below!
The Dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park is a four-feet-tall product of creative license that has the
honor of being one of the few dinosaurs in the franchise to be rendered entirely with practical effects.
The renowned wizards at Stan Winston Studios embraced the task presented to them, and
delivered to the screen a creature capable of going from oddly cute to flat-out horrifying in an
instant. Even before its neck expanded and that toxic venom flew through the air, audiences
knew that Nedry’s day was done.
The artisans at Chronicle Collectibles pay homage to the work of those effects masters with
their Jurassic Park 1/4-scale Dilophosaurus Statue. The creature’s curious expression is fully
realized in one of the two heads included with the piece, which can be readily switched to the
other to capture that signature look with the extended frills and screaming mouth. The
Dilophosaurus Statue is limited to 300 pieces, with the first 100 sold including a Chronicle
Collectibles exclusive — a Barbasol cryo-can in 1/4 scale.

New York Toy Fair may have ended well over a week ago, but that doesn’t mean the reveals have ended! In collaboration with Mattel, we have the first look at some of the upcoming Fall Jurassic World Dino Rivals lineup!

The small Attack Pack assortment will see many great new additions later this year, including the carnivorous Mononykus which is the first fully feathered Jurassic Park dinosaur toy, and the adorable Mussaurus, once believed to be a uniquely small Sauropod due to only juvenile fossils being discovered.
Savage Strike – $9.99
The Savage Strike assortment will continue later in the year, and while its full breadth of species has yet to be unveiled, we have a tease of one of the new items: the Jurassic Park 3 Male Raptor sporting a unique non-film color scheme. While he was slated to release in film colors in 2018, the item was sadly canceled, but thankfully the sculpt lives on here!

The Mattel Jurassic World Dinosaur Action Figures were announced the winners of the ‘Action Figure of the Year’ award. Receiving accolades from toy retailers, media, TIA members and consumers, the award was presented Friday evening in New York at the Toy Industry Association’s Annual T.O.T.Y Awards gala.

Kicking off New York Toy Fair 2019 with a roar, Lego and Universal Brand Development have announced a followup to last years ‘The Secret Exhibit’ titled ‘Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar’! This new mini series will take place in 2012, three years before the events of Jurassic World, and have a 13 episode long run filled with dinosaurs, drama, but most of all, zany comedy only Lego can deliver.
Set in 2012, three years before the events of the Jurassic World movie, LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar picks up where the story left off from LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. Newly hired animal behaviorist Owen Grady and Assistant Manager of Park Operations Claire Dearing team up on Isla Nublar to deal with everything the Jurassic World park throws their way. And “everything” includes runaway dinosaurs, ongoing construction to expand the park, tourists everywhere, unpredictable tropical weather, and an impulsive boss! Plus, a mysterious saboteur with surprising ties to the park’s past is on a quest to find a legendary treasure and destroy Jurassic World forever! What could possibly go wrong? Everything.
It’s clear that the mysterious saboteur will be none other than Dennis Nedry’s own nephew, Danny Nedermeyer, who was up to no good in the control room during ‘The Secret Exhibit’. That plot thread was left wide open, and while this series is no doubt not canon, I’m looking forward to seeing it all play out. The series debuts later this year, though an exact date has yet to be revealed.
Moving on from the mini-series, and to what fans have really been hopeful for, Lego have also revealed four new sets which tie into the ‘Legend of Isla Nublar’. One thing is for certain – some of these sets are sure to surprise!

Explore LEGO Jurassic World with Owen Grady and build his drone to look after the dinosaurs. Meet Hudson Harper, a kid who knows everything there is to know about dinosaurs. Put the T. rex to sleep with the tranquilizer gun. You must stop Danny before he finds a way to smash into the volcanic rock and steal the treasure!

Yes, that is a large Tyrannosaurus Rex mech colored like the Jurassic Park Ford Explorer vehicles. Does it make sense as something in the Jurassic franchise? Not one bit. Will it be amusing to watch in the mini-series, and later own as your own personal set? You bet. Another curiosity is the Baryonyx sporting four fingers and a Velociraptor-style sickle claw. Whether that indicates it’s another hybrid, an error, or a cost cutting measure to simply use the Indoraptor’s body and limbs is unknown – but either way, it creates one weird but beautifully painted looking dino.
I absolutely love the sets based around the open park – particularly the Triceratops Rampage, which is something I would like to see more of (over vehicles). Rumor has it there is one more set coming this year, a massive collector oriented direct to consumer set based upon either the Jurassic Park visitors center, or Jurassic World Innovation Center. Many fans have been eager more accurate representations of the parks, classic vehicles, and set pieces – while these new sets may not scratch that itch, there is hope 2019 will still deliver for them as well.
The new Lego sets are expected to hit store shelves Fall of this year.

Walmart released a commerical during the Golden Globes this past Sunday for their new grocery pickup service, which allows customers to order groceries online and have it delivered to their car. By the end of 2019, Walmart hopes to have 2,140 online grocery pickup sites. The promotional commercial released features iconic vehicles from TV shows and movies such as the Batmobile, the Ghostbusters ambulance, Knight Rider Firebird, Dumb & Dumber “Mutt Cutts” van, Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and most importantly, the Ford Explorer from Jurassic Park.
“We not only picked famous cars from iconic movies we knew would be instantly recognizable to our customers — and launched the campaign during one of the film industry’s most popular awards shows — but we also worked with a variety of different Hollywood studios to gain access to these vehicles,” Messing explained. “This helped ensure the famous cars looked just like what our customers knew from the films, while demonstrating the ease, speed and convenience of the service and that it’s for everyone, regardless of what car you drive.”

The set comes with two laser tag blasters that have a range of up to 100 ft! There are three shooting mode, and each has unique sound and light effects. There’s a life meter on the top of each blaster that keeps track of the shots fired and how many times the blaster has been hit.
Chose from three different shooting modes, each has different shot power, shot speed, number of shots, and reload time. You can hit the Secret Weapon button on the side of the gun to deal a massive blow to your opponent. The game ends when a player runs out of Life Points. Simply turn the blaster off and on to reset and start a new game. One round with these blasters definitely won’t be enough. The blasters are good quality and very responsive, both when firing and getting hit.
