It’s December 7th and do you know what that means? It is finally the day the highly anticipated first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is released!
While we are still a few hours away from release during tonight’s Falcons/Saints Thursday Night Football game on NBC, Universal Pictures have released another small teaser to get us all hyped:
Earlier this morning Universal Pictures in the UK released another short teaser titled Nostalgia. This one features a new shot of Dr. Ian Malcolm – check it out:
The full trailer has now officially been classified for release, although there is a slight discrepancy in regards to the actual length of the trailer. The Alberta Government website lists the running time as 2 minutes and 16 seconds while the BBFC lists it as 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Could UK audiences be getting a slightly extended trailer?

Either way the trailer is tonight and we are so excited to see what is in store! So what do you expect and hope for from the trailer? Let us know in the comments below and on our forums!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom goes where Jurassic has never gone before! The latest tease has arrived today which features brand new footage showcasing a variety of scenes in the movie, and gives us an incredibly exciting look behind the scenes! Watch below:
Where to begin? Firstly, wow! I’ve been cautious not to get too excited for the Jurassic World sequel but this video has brought out my inner child – and he loves it! I sat motionless for three minutes while I ingested this detailed look at Fallen Kingdom, and now I’m truly excited!
It looks as though J.A. Bayona has truly captured that “Jurassic” feel that I personally felt was missing from Jurassic World. The cinematography, the animatronics, the Malcolm! From set pieces to costumes, it feels like all of the elements are in place for this to be a true Jurassic Park movie.
Let’s dig in!
We open on a shot of Lockwood Manor – high in the hills in California lives Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). As many predicted, the first photo released from Fallen Kingdom takes place inside this mansion and features Maisie – a young girl played by Brooke Norbury. We see a number of scenes take place inside this location with a multitude of characters.
Speaking of characters, we see a number of the cast members in this video including Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Ted Levine and of course, Jeff Goldblum!
We see Dr. Ian Malcolm in a court room, very likely testifying against Jurassic World. This is the first time we have seen Malcolm since 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and it’s mesmerizing watching him again.
There is so much to see in this video including a look at Neal Scanlan’s animatronic work which is looking spectacular! The T-Rex seen in yesterday’s tease is shown in this video revealing the level of detail that has gone into it, along with a number of new species:
This movie is big; the stakes have been raised. There are a number of elements at play here, a wealth of new characters being thrown into the mix and a number of locations on offer, including the return to Isla Nublar for the last time.
Our very own Asees breaks down the extended look at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in a new video below:
How excited are you after watching today’s tease? There is a lot in this one video for us to ingest, and to think that tomorrow will bring a FULL TRAILER for the movie well, this really is a great time to be a fan.
The teases keep on coming in this Jurassic-filled week! Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed a new screenshot from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, showing a dinosaur never before seen in the franchise staring down Bryce Dallas Howard and Justice Smith’s characters!
The location appears to be a maintenance room and judging from the previous teases this week, the Baryonyx appears to enter the room via a dark tunnel. Many have speculated that this could be one of the geothermal stations situated on Isla Nublar.
Along with this screenshot reveal, EW gaves us more insight into the plot of the movie and the characters that front it.
“Claire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island. She reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening. When you see them at the beginning of this story, you get caught up as to what’s going on, but it’s not what you would necessarily expect.”
The article also adds Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith’s characters to the Dinosaur Protection Group and quotes director J.A. Bayona discussing the return of Jeff Goldlbum’s character:
“I had to overcome the impact of being in front of Ian Malcolm. After so many years, Jeff Goldblum was in front of a camera again talking about dinosaurs!”
But the teases don’t stop there! The official Jurassic World account shared this photo of Baby Blue with Owen, which was seen a week ago in the very first footage that was released for Fallen Kingdom. Now we have a full body look at “Baby Blue” and can see more about their location – which appears to be a nursery.
Universal Pictures were kind enough to send us another screenshot of the above scene which shows off slightly more of Blue – her baby sickle claws:
Our very own Asees breaks down all of the above in a new video – check it out below!
With lots to pour over already this week, Universal Pictures are really making noise about the upcoming trailer release this Thursday. A new sketch was released by Vine star Zach King and stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt:
Our queen of Nublar, Roberta Rex is back in full animatronic glory, and oh man, it’s glorious!
This is what fans have been waiting for! Jurassic World brought Lady Rex back to the screen, and Fallen Kingdom is continuing the tradition – and has made her look glorious!
Due to various set leaks during the filming of Fallen Kingdom, many have known of this particular shot for a while, but seeing it in action and looking as good as it does is good news for fans who have been aching for more animatronic action. Neal Scanlan’s team have done a great job with what we’ve seen of the practical dinosaurs so far and it falls directly in line with Stan Winston’s work with the series.
The Rex is looking fantastic, and yes, it’s “going to be awesome”. But let’s examine the footage.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters Owen and Claire will be directly interacting with the Rex. As we see in the footage, the two open up a cargo truck or container that houses the sleeping Rex. We then see Owen standing closer to the Rex than any character has before. He appears to look surprised or afraid of what is happening with her, especially since the Rex is looking more awake than the previous scenes.
At this point the Rex wakes up and we get a glorious close-up shot of her eye opening and focusing on Owen.
While context is key, especially during trailers, when Claire and Owen open the cargo truck containing the fallen Rex, they have an expression of concern or shock of seeing such a beast up close without being in immediate danger, especially for Claire given her heroic actions at the end of Jurassic World.
Perhaps the idea of being so close to the animal without being in danger is awe inspiring. Or maybe they are shocked to see what another party may have done to her.
While the plot could go either way, the cinematography of these shots seems to be showing more intimate scenes with humans and dinosaurs, just as Bryce Dallas Howard eluded to in her bit with Chris Pratt on Jimmy Kimmel.
This evening, Chris Pratt hosted Jimmy Kimmel and brought the tease for Thursday’s trailer to the show (starting at 11:10 into the video below). To see his fun comedy with Bryce Dallas Howard on the show, just look below. There’s no doubt that the two have chemistry and we can’t wait to see more of these them together!
The marketing continues today with a new tease – a “run montage”:
With a mix of fan favourite characters and dinosaurs being thrown into the mix, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom could be shaping up to be the most exciting entry in the series to date. What do you think of the footage so far? What do you hope to see during the full trailer? Let us know in the comments section below!

This exciting week continues with an extended look at the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ‘Run’ tease that was released on Sunday. In this new clip that was broadcast this evening, things are starting to get heated – just like Nublar’s volcano – which happens to be the star of the new shots. A catastrophic beauty.
As you can see the teaser isn’t vastly different from the first 15 second tease but comes with the addition of new shots, giving us a new, gorgeous establishing shot of the volcano erupting. Also featured is a new look at the stampede which has added a dinosaur to the list – either a Baryonyx or a Suchomimus.
This would be the first time either species would be making their series debuts and would be our first full body look at the creature. While it is hard to fully clarify which species this is due to the quality of the clip, it is undeniably a new species that has not featured in the franchise before.
The tease also features more of Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, and a herd of rampaging dinosaurs running for safety from the cloud of destruction that is right on their tracks. Alongside this new creature, fan favourites like the Gallis, Ankylosaurs, and Trikes can be seen.
The image above is from the Jurassic World park promotion site that shows off art for the Suchomimus. This art bears a resemblance to the creature seen in the footage, although we cannot be fully certain at this point. Some fans have speculated that it may even be a Metriacanthosaurus. The official website for Jurassic World lists the Suchomimus as being the larger of the animals and it also shares a similar colour scheme, however a more detailed look will be needed to be able to properly distinguish the creatures.
You can expect to see even more footage this evening as Chris Pratt is set to guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC, so stay locked in as we will have more coverage! Hopefully we will get a clearer shot of this mystery beast.
If you are interested in a more nuanced and a deeper dive into the footage so far, Chris and Jack have a discussion of what we have seen so far on the InGeneral Podcast and analyze all the details from it. Listen below!

Spoiler Warning! If you would rather discover at least one of the new dinosaur species directly from the marketing, it’s best to turn back now.
Still with us?
While the eagerly anticipated first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has yet to release, small tidbits of news continue to surface from various sources. The eminent threat of a volcanic eruption has been confirmed from numerous pieces of artwork featured on upcoming products, as well as the return of fan favorites such as Velociraptor Blue and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The latest batch of information comes from the upcoming ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ augmented reality book by Carlton Kids, and it’s quite exciting.
While the cover art reveals nothing new, it does once again hammer home the fiery theme of a volcanic eruption which has been present in all forms of Fallen Kingdom marketing and merchandise. However, the description of the book is a different story – while it’s fairly vague, it outright confirms that a fan favorite dinosaur will be making its on screen debut in Fallen Kingdom: Baryonyx.
Carlton’s official Augmented Reality book is jam-packed with exclusive movie imagery and background facts, and lets you experience original Jurassic World dinosaurs through mind-blowing next-generation, fully interactive Digital Magic. Learn how to bond with and train alpha Velociraptor “Blue”, then use her as your protector and guide as you encounter other dinosaurs through the app. From brand-new movie dinosaur characters including awesome Baryonyx and a terrifying new hybrid breed, to old favourites like T. Rex and Stegosaurus, this Jurassic World AR book will wow readers all over again.
Baryonyx is a bipedal carnivousous dinosaur, that could reach lengths of over 30 feet long, and stood nearly 10 feet tall. The fossil record suggest this predatory dinosaur lived primarily off of a diet of fish, swiping them from the water with long clawed limbs or its crocodile like jaw. However, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be regarded as a threat – especially as InGen creations tend to be more dangerous than their real world namesakes.
Baryonyx art created for JurassicWorld.com in 2015 by Julius Csotonyi
Barynoyx has an interesting history with the Jurassic Park franchise, and despite never being seen in any of the films, was allegedly on Isla Nublar during the events of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. According to the first films park map, it had a riverside paddock on the far east of the island. Likewise, it appears on the Jurassic World park map, and is said to be one of the dinosaurs you can see during the ‘Cretaceous Cruise’.
Further, Baryonyx was almost the main antagonist of Jurassic Park 3, but was later replaced by its larger cousin species the Spinosaurus. In fact, an early version of the Jurassic Park 3 logo featured the Baryonyx over its sailed back relative, which was featured on the final logos. As an homage to this change, Billy Brennan mistakenly identifies the Spinosaurus as a Baryonyx, and when corrected by Alan Grant, comments the Spinosaurus was never present on InGen’s list.
While the Baryonyx has never been depicted in the films, artwork was created for it by paleoartist Julius Csotonyi for the official Jurassic World website – however, it should be noted, this was not commissioned by the fillmaking team, but rather a late addition by the web marketing team. As such, its visual depiction does not reflect its upcoming Fallen Kingdom design, as there was no film material reference. This canonical visual indifference can be seen with the artwork for species that exist in the films, but had no ILM renders, such as Pachycephalosaurus, and Parasaurolophus – in their cases, the Csotonyi artwork looks nothing like their film counterparts.
The Baryonyx isn’t the only exciting detail the augmented reality book revealed – it also confirmed that Fallen Kingdom will feature an all new hybrid dinosaur. While it doesn’t reveal its name, it is safe to assume the creature in question is the ‘Indoraptor‘, which universal trademarked a few months back. No details of this dinosaur beyond its name are known, other than it is likely the dinosaur in the picture above.
The Augmented Reality book is the second in the series from Carlton Kids, following the release of one in 2015 for Jurassic World. It retails for around $9.99, has 32 pages, and releases May 2018. Check out the 2015 book in action to see how the augmented reality features works!
The first trailer for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom debuts December 7th, during Thursday Night Football on NBC and is expected to contain a glimpse at the Baryonyx among many other dinosaur species. Are you excited to finally see this dinosaur in action? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned as more news is sure to erupt online soon!
False alarm on the previous story that the first Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer was to arrive this Thursday, November 30th. Universal Pictures have since clarified that the trailer will NOT be arriving this Thursday. The promo video in the story below (now removed due to a copyright claim from Universal) was released early, by accident. The assets have since been removed from the press server.
The trailer IS close, perhaps a week or two away. Odds are these ads were not meant to be released until next week, which puts the trailer release date on the 7th (which we revealed on our latest Podcast) We will keep you updated as we learn more!
The original story is as follows:
It’s official – the first Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer arrives this Thursday, November 30th. Universal has announced that the very first Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer will debut during Thursday Night Football on NBC (Cowboys vs Redskins).
Universal took to their press servers to upload a series of TV spots teasing the trailer reveal, all stating that the trailer arrives Thursday. As the air/upload date is not embargoed, it is safe to assume it does indeed mean this Thursday – although we had previously heard it was aiming for the Thursday night slot of December 7th, so while the early date is surprising, the debut format is much expected!
This trailer announcement comes shortly after Colin Trevorrow teased the first footage of baby Blue from Fallen Kingdom, taking the internet by storm. Stay tuned – more teases and updates may be coming shortly.
