Jurassic World: The Exhibition Heading to Paris, France this April!

The next stop on the tour for Jurassic World: The Exhibition has officially been announced, and after two stops in the United States it is heading across the pond to Europe. Starting on April 14th, it will be located in Paris, France at the Cité du Cinéma until September 2nd.

Inspired by one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of cinema, this event immerses young and old in the scenes inspired by the famous film. Here, the imaginary park comes alive … right under your eyes.

Discover Isla Nublar in VIP class and explore Jurassic World. Open your eyes in front of the imposing Brachiosaurus; talk face to face with a Velociraptor and approach the worst of all, the terrible Tyrannosaurus rex.

Created in close collaboration with a renowned paleontologist, Jack Horner, the exhibition is rich in interactive and educational content from scientific research on dinosaur DNA, discoveries that have allowed Jurassic World to come to life. Whatever your age, these incredible prehistoric creatures will have no secrets for you.

Signs like the one above have begun appearing around the region advertising the Exhibition coming to France.

While it isn’t a surprise that the Exhibition will be making a stop in Europe, it is a surprise that it is doing so in 2018. Cityneon Holdings Limited, who acquired the global rights to the Exhibition this past August had stated in their January Company Guide that two more United State cities were on deck for 2018. The show was then expected to move to a European city and Asian city in 2019. A second Jurassic World: The Exhibition traveling set is also currently under construction for a debut in Europe in 2019.

Obviously things can always change, and they have has as the orginial traveling set (JW1) is moving to Europe this year, which begs the question of where the second set (JW2) will actually make it’s debut in 2019. As more details on future city locations become available we will keep you updated.

This will be the fourth stop for the Exhibition so far after debuting in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Museum. It followed up that with stays in Philadelphia at the Franklin Institute and Chicago at the Field Museum. Both of the last stops being in the United States.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and on our forums.

Special thanks to Jurassic World News France for the heads up on the announcement that the next stop will be in Paris, France.

‘Jurassic World Live’ Arena Stunt Show Announced For 2019!

Hold on to your butts!

Universal Pictures have announced that starting in the Fall of 2019 there will be a live arena show called “Jurassic World Live“.

An official website went live this morning and it offers a brief description of what we can expect from the show.

An All-New, Live Arena Show Coming Fall 2019

Jurassic World Fans — get ready for this all-new, live-action show coming to your hometown! Experience the excitement of coming face to face with life-sized dinosaurs, including the vicious Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Velociraptor Blue and many other favorites. Adventure is guaranteed with arena-sized action, special effects and physical stunts that will leave you on the edge-of-your seat!

Image courtesy of Feld Entertainment (via Jurassic Park Podcast)

Our initial assumption and expectation is that this will be something similar to “Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular” that has been touring the world since 2007. But obviously this new show will be focused on the story and dinosaurs of the Jurassic World films. Check out the Walking with Dinosaurs video below of what the Jurassic World Live show may resemble.

However, despite some surface similarities it seems Jurassic World: Live will roar into new territories, pushing the boundaries of technology to bring the action to life like never before:

Feld Entertainment Inc. and Universal Brand Development are collaborating on a groundbreaking, live-touring show inspired by one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinematic history, Jurassic World. Feld will concept, produce and tour the multi-year arena show, which is scheduled to launch fall 2019 in the United States and will continue globally, featuring a herd of life-size dinosaurs extending up to 40-feet long. Using state-of-the-art projection mapping, fans will be transported right onto Isla Nublar, and with the addition of sophisticated animatronics and performer-operated characters, the dinosaurs will literally be the biggest stars of the show as the story is told through human and dinosaur interaction.

To bring this epic dinosaur world to life off the big screen, Feld Entertainment is breaking down the traditional arena barriers that typically exist between the audience and the live action. For the first time in an arena setting, fans will experience the epic wonder, thrills, awe and terror of the Jurassic World franchise up close and in their hometown.

“Fans around the world continue to tell us they want more ways to experience Jurassic World, and the thrilling action and larger-than-life experience of this live arena tour gives them the opportunity to engage in an all new and exciting way,” said Vince Klaseus, President, Universal Brand Development. “Feld Entertainment is best-in-class at creating spectacular live experiences, and this show is able to meet the high expectations of fans worldwide who are craving more interaction with Jurassic World dinosaurs.”

“The live Jurassic World arena experience will create new ways for fans to engage with one of the world’s most popular franchises,” said Kenneth Feld, Chairman and CEO of Feld Entertainment. “Feld Entertainment has the expertise and experience to bring this iconic franchise to life through an innovative format in an immersive arena setting coupled with a unique narrative that includes iconic locations and fan favorite dinosaurs – creating edge-of-your-seat, live entertainment that is a mix between a stunt show and a 3-D thrill attraction.

This show sounds quite different than Jurassic World: the Exhibition, the touring museum show which made its debut in 2016. While the exhibition has been met with enthusiasm from fans and families, one of the resounding comments is how the dinosaurs do not look like their film counterparts – perhaps the new live show will remedy this.

Universal Studios Japan Announces New Parade Featuring Jurassic World!

When it comes to Jurassic Park, Universal Studios Japan gets all the good stuff. Their dinosaurs look more accurate to the films, their encounters are more robust, and their rides are newer, with more variety. So it comes as no surprise that Universal Studios Japan is getting an epic new parade with Jurassic World as a headliner. While details are still few, the piece of key art released paints an exciting picture.

Read the first details about the Universal Spectacle Night Parade in the press release below!

Universal Studios Japan will introduce a new large-scale project in 2018, the world’s first next-generation parade, “Universal Spectacle Night Parade – Best of Hollywood”, which will revolutionize the traditional experience.

Universal Studios Japan continues to invest in new experience to bring park guests innovative entertainment.

The “Universal Spectacle Night Parade – Best of Hollywood” will celebrate 4 of Hollywood’s most fan favorite films, including “Harry Potter” “Minions,” “Jurassic World”, and making their Park debut in the parade “Transformers”, the born-in- Japan entertainment brand with its popular toys, games, animation and feature films.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World and its captivating magic, the Illimination’s “Minions” and their mayhem, theenormous robots “Transformers”, and the realism of the “Jurassic World” dinosaurs come together to be recreated in a continually changing entertainment spectacle. Park guests will be completely enveloped and fully immersed in this brand-new and continually changing entertainment, which far surpasses the traditional theme park parade experience.

The impossible is made possible with perfect synchronization of projection mapping, which completely cover the surroundings, floats incorporating dynamic movements, high quality film lighting, sweeping cinematic score and performances by live entertainers through the use of “Show Orchestration,” an outstanding technology specially developed by Universal Creative.

Followers of our website will no doubt recognize that Tyrannosaurus Rex render as one of the new pieces of key art being circulated for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – and yes, it appears that the second T.rex in the background is another new render from the upcoming sequel. More eagle eyed readers may also recognize the rocky mountain in the backdrop from the early ‘JW2’ licensing expo banners spotted earlier this year. The red glow from behind also seems to be a hint of volcanic activity, which may well factor into the parade itself.

Considering that they keyart heavily borrows from the upcoming sequel, it is very possible the events showcased in the parade are inspired by Fallen Kingdom. Could that mean a Tyrannosaurus chasing a Gyropshere scene will be featured – or is that simply creative liberty taken while creating the parade? Time will tell!

The final key note of importance is this is the first time the parks have used the branding of ‘Jurassic World’ rather than ‘Jurassic Park’. While it’s only for a parade at this time, it may be a sign of future things to come.

Are you excited for the new parade – and do you hope it comes to the other Universal parks, such at the one in Florida? Sound off in the comments below, and let us know. As always, stay tuned for all of the latest news!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to be Really Intense + SDCC News Roundup

It’s been quiet. Perhaps too quiet. And while we decided against picking something off our secret news pile, it was an interesting couple of weeks and allowed us to anticipate what the studio might do next.

San Diego Comic Con was quiet with no studio presence, but as is tradition – Chronicle Collectibles debuted a number of new products at the event, and had guest speaker Glen McIntosh of ILM there, who was the animation supervisor on Jurassic World and animation director on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom!

Jurassic fan Victoria got to speak with Glen at the Chronicle booth and managed to score some tidbits from the upcoming sequel, including a rumour that the film was originally going to be titled Jurassic Earth.

However, we have since heard that this was merely a misinterpreted joke between Glen and Chronicle. He spoke very highly of the sequel however and said “it’s gonna be really scary, really intense, to a level that I think we haven’t seen before” and went on to compliment the creative team behind the film:

“Colin’s script, JA’s direction, they’ve really pushed the envelope of the intensity and I think that’s supported by the cinematography, there’s very harsh lighting. It’s gonna look fantastic.

At the booth Glen was gifting fans with free sketches of dinosaurs from the series and showed video from a motion capture screen test he was working on at ILM – showcasing a man in a motion capture suit animating a Velociraptor live, seen through a monitor in the foreground.

You can see the full 9 minute video here showing what Victoria saw at the Chronicle booth, including some of their new products – the Hammond Cane (which they worked in collaboration with Paradise Collectibles on), the sick Triceratops and the Indominus Rex statue.

You can watch Chronicle’s interview with Glen at the booth here, and below are some photos taken by Figure.com showcasing Chronicle’s new products:

At the booth, Chronicle revealed their new product in collaboration with Paradise Collectibles: The John Hammond Cane prop replica! Cast from an original film prop seen in the movie, this cane is an exclusive 1:1 scale replica and is available for pre-order now through Paradise Collectibles new website.

Read more about the Hammond cane here, and let us know what you think of all these new products in the comments below! We really enjoy reading all of the discussions you guys have below, so keep it up!
