Chris Pratt wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for role of Owen Grady in Fallen Kingdom

Tonight in Los Angeles, the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took place with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom up for one award. Chris Pratt was up for the Favorite Butt-Kicker award for his portrayal of Owen Grady and took home the famous orange blimp.

Pratt squared off against Danai Gurira (Black Panther), Dwayne Johnson (Skyscraper), Emilia Clarke (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Michael B. Jordan (Creed II) and Zoe Saldana (Avengers: Infinity War) in the category.

In Fallen Kingdom, Owen has gone off the grid a bit, building a cabin while trying to forget the events that took place at Jurassic World and the current political debate over whether the dinosaurs should be saved from the impending volcanic eruptuon of Mt. Sibo. Convinced by Claire to return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs, including Blue the Velociraptor, a conspiracy arises where the dinosaurs are actually being taken off the island to be sold at auction.

‘Jurassic World: Live Tour’ Locations Announced – Tickets on Sale March 26th!

Are you ready to return to Jurassic World? This Fall, the all-new touring live arena show from Feld Entertainment will make its debut in numerous major east coast United States cities! Take a look at the city list below:

The tickets for those locations will go on sale March 26th, 2019 – so mark your calendars to not miss out! As stated in the image, further US locations as well as an international tour will be announced in the future. While not much is known about this exciting Jurassic show, the official blurb promises an epic dinosaur filled spectacular.

Jurassic World Fans — get ready for this all-new, live-action show coming to your hometown! Experience the excitement of being face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs, including the vicious Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Velociraptor Blue and many other favorites. Adventure is guaranteed with arena-sized action, special effects and physical stunts that will leave you on the edge-of-your seat!

Additionally, we’ve been given a pretty great hint that the plot may take place while Jurassic World was still open for visitors with the latest image released below:

Is that another trained dinosaur confronting Blue?

Pictured are three Jurassic World employees inside an all-new World updated Jurassic Park style Jeep, as they encounter Velociraptor Blue and another unknown species of carnivorous dinosaur (which looks like a oversized Compsognathus, but is likely to be a dinosaur such as Coelophysis or Troodon). It stands to reason employees would have been unlikely to be doing much work outside of evacuating post the Indominus Rex breakout, so the open era of the park seems set!

Considering the rapidly approaching pre-sale date, we’re sure to learn a lot more about this live show soon! Be sure to head over the official website to sign up for alerts and to purchase your tickets once they’re available.

As always, stay tuned to Jurassic Outpost, where we will be sure to bring you all the latest Jurassic World news!

First look at Blue from the Jurassic World Live Tour!

The official twitter page for the Jurassic World Live Tour released today the very first look at the Blue velociraptor puppet for the new show. The arena style show will begin it’s run this upcoming September.

In the 8 second clip below you will get to see the look of Blue and the smooth movements of the puppet itself. The style of the show and the puppets reminds us very much of the Walking with Dinosaurs arena spectacular that has been touring for many years. Jurassic World: Evolution Inspired Fan Meetup Happening in London this March!

Open up your calendar as it’s time for another Jurassic Park community meetup!

Frequent collaborator Tom Jurassic is hosting a Jurassic World Evolution Unofficial Community Meetup on Friday 8th March at the Natural History Museum in London.

The meetup will take place from 1pm – and Tom has already promised a host of fun activities, Jurassic-themed goodies and more for anyone who takes the time to join him in London. Tom has also revealed another detail of this meetup for fans of Jurassic Outpost:

“Firstly – I really appreciate all the support from everyone in spreading word about the meetup! Both Jurassic Outpost and The Jurassic Park Podcast have been amazing in getting word out there – allowing me to focus on some behind-the-scenes work which has enabled something incredibly cool to occur! I am beyond excited to reveal that Paul from the Natural History Museum’s Dinosaur Lab will be giving an hour’s talk to people who come down for the meetup – with the talk taking place from 1:30pm – 2:30pm. The Natural History Museum do talks here and there, but they are something which the general visitor will not be able to access.

I’m super excited to be able to bring a little more to the Jurassic World Evolution Unofficial Community Meetup – building a special day which I hope Jurassic fans who can make it will remember for years to come!”

This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for those attending – allowing people to get more hands-on with the museum than they would usually be able to!

Tom’s put a lot of work into this meetup and like any Jurassic community meetup there will no doubt be a favourable turnout! If you’re in or around the London area be sure to try and make it.

The Natural History Museum in London features one of the most beautiful and comprehensive collections of palaeontological discoveries in the country, which you’ll have the chance to come face to face with! The museum hosts popular dinosaurs like the T-Rex and the Triceratops, alongside the star of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom; the Baryonyx.

As Tom states: “We’ll take part in some fun Jurassic-themed games, and they’ll be a host of awesome Evolution prizes and goodies to give out throughout the day.”

A schedule for the day is still being locked down – but there is plenty to do in South Kensington including the Science Museum, so after spending a good amount of time at the Natural History Museum there will still be plenty more fun in store. The best part about all of this? The museums are all free entry!

You can learn more about Tom’s community meetup here, and be sure to let us know in the comments section below if you’ll be making it down!

Vibrating water glass from Jurassic Park has been recreated by Jurassic Collectables

Our good friends at Jurassic Collectables has something very special to share today with the Jurassic fandom. They have recreated the iconic vibrating water glass from 1993’s Jurassic Park with some assistance from Oscar Award winning Michael Lantieri, who worked on the special effects for the film.

After 25 years, Jurassic Collectables has recreated the famous Jurassic Park vibrating glass of water seen in the Main Road Attack. After sourcing the exact same cup used on screen, Jurassic Collectables contacted Michael Lantieri to find out the exact make & pitch of guitar string and the accompanying hardware.

The project involved Jurassic Collectables building a contraption to keep tension in the wire, allowing vibration to travel from the string to the water. See the video for yourself today on Jurassic Collectables.

Make sure to tune in at 4PM GMT today to watch the premiere video of Jurassic Collectables latest creation. The video can be seen here:

Jurassic Park returning to select theaters in September for 25th Anniversary

Jurassic Park, the 1993 classic film that started it all and spawned four sequels so far with a fifth sequel due in 2021, is set to return to select theaters this September in celebration of the film’s 25th Anniversary. In a report from Entertainment Weekly, Jurassic Park will return in more than 500 theaters nationwide for three special days, Sunday September 16th, Tuesday September 18th and Wednesday September 19th.

It’s been 25 years since the gates of Jurassic Park opened the first time, welcoming viewers into a time-lost amusement park filled with beautiful dinosaurs, terrifying dinosaurs, and soaring John Williams music. To celebrate the big anniversary, Steven Spielberg’s original film will be returning to more than 500 theaters nationwide for three days: Sunday, Sept. 16, Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19. Tickets can be purchased online at Fathom Events’ website or at participating theater box offices.

In addition to the seeing Jurassic Park on the big screen, audiences will also get to see a special 17-minute fan film remake of the Steven Spielberg classic. The fan film reportedly was created by Jurassic fans from around the entire world and our guess it is a culmination of all the fan videos that the official website had asked for earlier in the year.

Entertainment Weekly also received an exclusive rare on-set photo from Amblin showing Spielberg, Sam Neill, BD Wong, Richard Attenborough and Jeff Goldblum preparing for the hatchery scene. Please take a look at the exclusive photo below.

Please visit Fathom Events for more information once they post it. Also, make sure to check Fandango and see if your local theater has any showings, as some already have tickets available for purchase.
