Working with Universal Brand Development, we’re excited to be part of the upcoming after hours fan-event occurring at Universal Studios Hollywood on April 28th, 2022. The event will be limited capacity RSVP only – read on for more details about what to expect, and information on how to lock your tickets in.

Generation Jurassic Event – April 28th – Presented by Universal and Target

Universal and Target, along with super fan site, Jurassic Outpost, have come together to create an exclusive event for Jurassic fans of all ages – Generation Jurassic will be held on April 28th from 7:30-10pm at Universal Studios Hollywood. Against the backdrop of “Jurassic World—The Ride” within the theme park, fans will get to celebrate all things Jurassic and experience a variety of activities, including:

  • Participate in a LIVE “Jurassic World: Beyond the Gates” panel discussion, plus Q&A with toy designers from Universal, Mattel and Funko, including reveals of all-new Target-exclusive items

  • Explore product displays of the latest and greatest toys, apparel, collectibles and more

  • Experience the thrills on Jurassic World: The Ride, including coming face-to- face with the stunningly realistic dinosaur Indominus rex

    NEW Image and Info on DeWanda Wise’s Kayla Watts in ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ via Empire Magazine!

    Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters in just under three months, and more news & visual teases are arriving every day. A new image and information about DeWanda Wise’s new-to-the-franchise character Kayla Watts has arrived via Empire Magazine, and she is looking to steal the show. Read Empire‘s full article complete with the new image below:

    In the new image, Kayla seems to be in a somewhat shady setting resembling a makeshift lab or warehouse. While this location could be anywhere, it’s possible she is joining Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) in Malta based on the colors in the architecture and the nature of the film’s story. Standing in front of a very interesting incubator that may house some dinosaur eggs, she is brandishing a large taser tool (presumably for wrangling dinosaurs) and wearing a very cool jacket with some sort of dragon logo adorning the shoulder. The taser tool looks to be the same one she is holding in the previously released image below:

    Also in Empire Magazine’s article is some brand new info on Kayla Watts’ character:

    “…Dominion will find Kayla getting up close and personal with prehistoric beasts like the Quetzalcoatlus and the Pyroraptor – and Wise found herself in a similar situation, stepping onto extensive sets and rubbing shoulders with the animatronic dinos that brought this Jurassic world to life. “There’s nothing like being dropped into a space to go, like, ‘Got it. I know how to walk now’,” she tells Empire of her experiences on the epic Pinewood soundstages. “This is Kayla’s world. She’s fresh out of the Air Force and her main thing is flying cargo: mostly dinosaur stuff, but it could be anything.’”

    Wise went on to detail her encounters with some of the creatures of Dominion, saying:

    “If you are even a little bit of an animal lover, even a smidge, it’s just remarkable. I was shown the Lystrosaurus early and named him Leonard,” she says. “I would like to take him home. It’s honestly wildly overwhelming, how much affection you can feel for this thing that you know logically is not real.”

    It is very cool to learn this new bit of background on Kayla Watts and hear about DeWanda Wise’s personal encounters with Dominion‘s new creatures! You can read Empire’s full article here. Their full Jurassic World: Dominion story, which is set to include a brand new image of the Pyroraptor and other new Dominion information, will be on shelves and online Thursday, March 17th. Dominion hits theaters June 10th!

    US Snowboarder Shaun White Encounters an Apatosaurus in Third ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ NBC Olympics Ad!

    The third television spot of the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ x NBC Winter Olympics crossover ad campaign has been released – this time starring US Olympic Snowboarder Shaun White! The first ad featured Olympic Alpine Ski Racer Mikaela Shiffrin, and the second featured US Olympic Figure Skater Nathan Chen. Watch the third ad below:

    The ad showcases White training for the half-pipe event on a snowy mountain range – similar to the first two spots. Jurassic inspired music returns as he begins his descent. At the peak of his first jump, White is suddenly eye to eye with an apatosaurus towering above the trees. He stops on the edge of the half-pipe, and the apatosaur brings its neck down to his level. Its breath fogs his goggles, prompting him to remove them and stand in awe of the massive creature. The ad once again ends with a promo card for the Winter Olympics beginning February 3rd on NBC and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ in theaters June 10th.

    The third entry in the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ x NBC Winter Olympics crossover ad campaign boasts epic visuals and music, countered by a majestic close encounter between Shaun White and a massive apatosaur. These ads have provided a fun beginning to the upcoming film’s advertising. It seems one more possible date to watch for this crossover is February 4th at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2022 Winter Olympics on NBC. Stay tuned Jurassic fans; the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ marketing has only just begun.

    Watch ‘Devil In The Desert’, A New Fan-Film Set After ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’!

    ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ still hasn’t unveiled a trailer, ‘Camp Cretaceous’ is behind us for now, and apart from some advertisements associated with the Olympics; not much is happening. This will all change very soon, but in the meantime wouldn’t it be nice to watch a short film connected to the story of the movies? No, I don’t mean the fantastic ‘Battle At Big Rock’ from years ago (although you should definitely check that out if you somehow haven’t). Fans have created their own films! One of these fans, Joshua Malone, an aspiring actor and filmmaker, has recently unleashed a brand-new film: ‘Devil In The Desert’!

    Created in association with the Colorado Northwestern Community College and their paleontology program, ‘Devil In The Desert’ is a found footage-style production that takes place after the events of ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’. Filmed on location at a real dig site in Colorado, follow a group of paleontologists as they go about their daily work… until “the devil” slowly begins to reveal itself. Could a dinosaur from Lockwood Manor’s grand escape have made its way to them? If so, who better to handle a dinosaur than a group of dinosaur experts? Or is real-life much more dangerous than its buried ancestors could have foretold?

    When asked about what it was like to direct and work with actual paleontologists on the film, Josh said:

    “It was interesting because some of us had some previous experience and some didn’t, but everyone was really on board with this. We didn’t have a script, at all. It was just us constantly brainstorming and coming up with scenes on the spot while we were taking breaks or after dinners. Everyone out there loved dinosaurs and enjoys ‘Jurassic’ so we all just were like, “How would we handle running into a Lockwood dinosaur?”, and it went from there. The dig site itself is incredible, and the field program Colorado Northwestern Community College offers is truly unique and an amazing experience.”

    ‘Devil In The Desert’ is a fun and creepy little film that is sure to delight ‘Jurassic’ fans! Joshua Malone’s recent additional works include Haunted: A Halloween Horror Nights Fan-Film and several voice roles in Rick Carter’s Jurassic Park: An Illustrated Audio Drama.

    Parasaurs Roam Free Alongside US Figure Skater Nathan Chen in New ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ NBC Olympics Ad!

    “They do move in herds.“

    The second of three ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ x NBC Winter Olympics crossover ads has been released, this time featuring US Olympic Figure Skater Nathan Chen! The first ad featured Olympic Alpine Ski Racer Mikaela Shiffrin, and the third ad will feature US Olympic Snowboarder Shaun White. Watch the newest ad below:

    The ad begins as Chen trains for the upcoming Winter Olympics on a frozen lake, high in a snow-covered mountain range. A herd of parasaurolophus stampede through a ravine towards him as Jurassic inspired music begins. It crescendos as the group stops along the bank of the frozen lake, creating a moment of awe before the magnificent creatures. The leader of the herd and Chen lock eyes for a moment before the group bolts away into the snowy distance. The ad ends with a promo card for the Winter Olympics beginning February 3rd on NBC and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ in theaters June 10th.

    This second entry in the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ x NBC Winter Olympics crossover ad campaign really ups the concept of the first a bit and brings in some beautiful music and dinosaurs to boot.     ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Featured in Winter Olympics Crossover Ad!

    After what feels like 65 million years, the Jurassic World Dominion marketing campaign has officially kicked off in full swing. First making its debut on the TODAY Show, a new advert has roared its way online featuring Velociraptor Blue and a Tyrannosaurus rex alongside Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin.

    According to the NBCUniversal Press release ‘Shiffrin is one of three Team USA athletes who will appear in ads merging Winter Olympics competitors and the upcoming film, Jurassic World: Dominion. Snowboarder Shaun White and figure skater Nathan Chen will also each encounter dinosaurs created by the artists at Industrial Light & Magic.’

    Shiffrin had the following to say: “We’ve all grown up being awe-struck by the incredible dinosaurs in the Jurassic World films, so to suddenly be able to step into the world of these films and interact with [raptor] Blue myself was exciting and unforgettable.”

    “This is an extraordinary year for NBC Sports as we broadcast and stream the Winter Olympics and Super Bowl to audiences around the country this February,” said Jenny Storms, CMO of entertainment and sports for NBCUniversal. “This Haley’s comet of media events gives us an unprecedented opportunity to reach, engage and captivate consumers like never before. We are taking this to colossal levels by partnering with our friends at Universal on the biggest event in film this year, Jurassic World Dominion.  The spots we have created with our Olympic athletes are jaw-dropping, innovative and thrilling.”

    Per the NBC Universal press release, this campaign will continue throughout the Olympics with the other key dates being January 31st plus February 3rd & 4th:

    Beginning at 8 p.m. ET on January 31, all three of the individual athletes’ individual [Jurassic World] spots will appear simultaneously in a “roadblock” across multiple platforms. This will be followed on February 3 by a primetime exclusive preview of the 2-minute spot featuring all three athletes and the campaign will culminate with the official premiere of the 2-minute spot during NBCU’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony on February 4.

    According to the NBC Universal media event we reported on yesterday, this is all leading to a larger payoff that will occur during Super Bowl LVI on February 13th. While these unique Olympics adverts do not actually include footage from the film itself, it is expected to lead into more traditional film adverts during the NFLs ‘Big Game’ on February 13th.

    Jurassic World Dominion is the 6th film in the Jurassic Park franchise, starring Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Bryce Dallas Howard, DeWanda Wise, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, BD Wong, Cambell Scott, Mamoudou Athie, and many, many more. Dominion will release exclusively in theaters on June 10th, 2022.

    ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Marketing Campaign to begin with Winter Olympics tie-in on the TODAY Show!

    NBCUniversal has just announced via press release their marketing plans for the upcoming Winter Olympics and Super Bowl XLVI, and within those plans is some big Jurassic World: Dominion news!

    From the initial press preview:

    “NBCU will involve all of its platforms for both the Olympics and Super Bowl build-up, including with Universal Studios a Jurassic World x Olympics promo launch on Jan. 21, five cross-company roadblocks, SUV and Chrisley Knows Best custom promotions and $40 million in local and affiliate support.”

    Speaking further in the press release, representatives from NBCU shared:

    “And if that wasn’t big enough, we’re going colossal and partnering with Universal Films to leverage our blockbuster movie franchise Jurassic World.  These Olympians are about to face a challenge they never saw coming in a world they never imagined, more details are coming this Friday on the TODAY show.”

    This is exciting news as it seems the marketing campaign for Jurassic World: Dominion is hatching tomorrow! To set expectations: this is not the trailer, but the beginning of a marketing campaign that could culminate with it. In a recent media event, NBCUniversal promised an even larger pay off for the Dominion marketing during the Super Bowl on February 13th:

    “We will capitalize on the Halley’s Comet (visible from the Earth only once every 75 years) of media moments, because there is simply nothing bigger than having the two biggest media events together at NBC Sports: the Super Bowl and the Olympics on the same day and on the same network,” Jenny Storms, CMO, entertainment and sports, NBCUniversal, said during the presentation.”
