Confirmed: ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ Trailer Coming Soon! Will it Release with ‘Fast & Furious 9’ this June?

Update: Producer Frank Marshall has taken to Twitter to confirm a trailer is indeed coming soon! No word yet if it will be tied to ‘F9’, or perhaps drop on June 11th – read on to get our detailed breakdown of what we expect, and when!

The road to the upcoming 6th installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ has been long, with many expected twists and turns, being pushed back from 2021 to 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic. This has left a drought of Jurassic news, outside of the ongoing animated series ‘Camp Cretaceous’, and anticipation is running high to learn more about the upcoming sequel.

This of course leads to the big question: when will we see the first trailer for ‘Dominion’? Speculation has run rampant, and while there are many logical milestones, nothing has been certain due to the way the entire film industry has been shaken up from Covid19. Thankfully, the wait won’t be long.

We have been hearing the trailer is targeting this Summer, which is something our friends at NeoJurassic podcast had also reported. In fact, we originally heard it was looking to release in August –  however, that information dates back to prior to the release of Season 2 of ‘Camp Cretaceous’.

So if not August, when is the trailer due to hit? While we don’t have an exact confirmation, we’re fairly confident it will be released this June alongside ‘Fast & Furious 9’.

The first ‘Dominion’ trailer will likely skew towards the teaser variety, only giving a glimpse of what’s to come without showing off too many new elements. We’re big fans of well made trailers – something we feel Jurassic World has previously missed the boat on with their spoiler-laden output. We’re hopeful that ‘Jurassic World 3’ curbs that trend, taking inspiration from more curated teaser experiences like ‘Cloverfield’, or trailers like ‘The Force Awakens’.

Conversely, perhaps a one-off experience, akin to ‘Battle at Big Rock’ will serve as the film’s first tease. The end of ‘BaBR’ set the tone with numerous dinosaur encounters on mainland, and we’ve since been awaiting a followup on the concept, which is filled with opportunity for content prior to Dominions release. This could serve as more curated teaser, and speaking to Hollywood Reporter director Colin Trevorrow revealed that something related to Dominion is indeed coming soon:

“It’s going to be sooner than you think. I can’t talk about it just yet. We’ve got something fun planned, and it has everything to do with getting people back into the movie theaters.”

‘Fast & Furious 9’ is hitting US theaters this June 25th, a timely release roughly a year out from Dominions June 10th, 2022 date. Outside of Jurassic, the Fast & Furious series is Universal’s largest theatrical performer, and we’re sure that the studio is keen to supercharge its theatrical run this summer with as many incentives as possible, and ‘Dominion’ marketing is certainly one way to do so. 

Taking that concept further, perhaps Universal aims to release ‘Big Rock’ style one-offs marketing the sequel with all their appropriate upcoming theatrical tentpoles. This could serve as a proper blitz to really revitalize theaters, all while hyping up ‘Dominion’ without actually showcasing scenes or spoilers from the films. Movies like ‘Old’ (July 23rd) and ‘Halloween Kills’ (October 15th) may also be spots to watch – that said, we feel confident that whatever is planned, ‘F9’ sits at the center of it.

Releasing the trailer in June makes a lot of sense for other reasons: we learned a long while back that ‘Jurassic World: Evolution 2’ was in development, and planned to release near Dominion. The game heavily features elements from the new film such as the new varied environments, companies and facilities, characters, and of course, dinosaurs. While Dominion’s delay did push Evolutions plans back, we’re hearing it’s likely the game will have a debut trailer at Gamescom in August.

We’re not sure how ‘Dominion’ will be supported after the trailer drops, as the proper story-centric marketing push isn’t expected to kick off until closer to February 2022 alongside a larger trailer we assume will be timed with the SuperBowl. However, that leaves the curious omission of November & December 2021, a time period typically reserved for the first trailer of new Jurassic films. Perhaps instead of a trailer at that time, a behind the scenes video will hit teasing what’s to come, building anticipation for the larger marketing push planned soon after?

It’s also possible that the November/December 2021 timeslot may be passed up by ‘Dominion’ marketing, as we’re expecting a 4th season of Netflix’s ‘Camp Cretaceous’ around that time. While ‘JWCC’ is standalone, Colin Trevorrow has repeatedly teased it has larger ties to ‘Dominion’, so it may serve a similar role in pushing audiences to look forward to the upcoming sequel. Considering how much the film industry has been struggling to find its footing again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe building a momentous push to build anticipation, spread awareness, and drive audiences to want to return to theaters with ‘Dominion’ is key. Quite frankly, this film is one of the few currently capable of such, perhaps more-so than Disney’s upcoming Marvel offerings. 

With ‘Star Wars’ taking some time away from the theatrical space, Jurassic is at an even better position to expand its brand awareness and loyalty over the coming year. We’re quite hopeful this budding opportunity is taken full advantage of, and releasing a teaser this June points that way. We truly believe in the theatrical experience of cinemas, and hope to see a large push to make sure that experience – something films like Jurassic require – does not go extinct.

Colin Trevorrow Confirms ‘Camp Cretaceous’ Has Connections With ‘Dominion’

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched Season 3 of ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ yet, do yourself a favor and get on it! In this writer’s opinion it is the best, and darkest, season of the show yet!

Season 3 of ‘Camp Cretaceous’ has a lot going on: island escape attempts, fun callbacks at the Visitor Center of ‘Jurassic Park’, and the scary scene-stealing poisonous hybrid Scorpious Rex (also known as E750). The kids that were left behind during Isla Nublar’s second breakout, thanks to the Indominus Rex, spent 6 months on the island before finally getting off the shores. Presumably they are off the island for good, but who knows where they will end up or return to?

Right before their departure, the kids have an unfortunate clash with the same team that was sent by Eli Mills (a rather untrustworthy man who would eventually steal dinosaurs out from under Benjamin Lockwood’s nose and sell them in an auction) to retrieve genetic information from the Indominus Rex so Dr. Henry Wu can create a new hybrid: the Indoraptor. This connects the series directly, not just to ‘Jurassic World’, but to its first sequel ‘Fallen Kingdom’.

Entertainment Weekly shared a conversation they had with showrunner Scott Kreamer and executive producer Colin Trevorrow (co-writer & director of ‘Jurassic World’), where Trevorrow explains:

“They’re on this island and, at a certain point, it seems as if they’ve been there for this indeterminate amount of time. To make clear, first of all, what the timeline was at the beginning of ‘Fallen Kingdom’ — it was about six months after the fall of ‘Jurassic World’ — for kids who’ve grown up on it, it’s cool to allow them to connect to these touchstones in the story and recognize that the story we’re telling is part of the larger story. It’s not just some cartoon show for kids…”

‘Camp Cretaceous’ reveals that a lot more was going on at the island during the incredible opening sequence of ‘Fallen Kingdom’. After the kids are forced back ashore by part of the same team sent by Mills, about half of them are rushed on board a helicopter until our lady T-rex charges in and chomps on an unsuspecting mercenary. The helicopter takes off prematurely due to the attack, leaving behind the other half of the kids to fend for themselves. This sends the helpless kids on a chase through the jungle, until the T-rex is distracted by the same helicopter we see in ‘Fallen Kingdom’ near the Mosasaur Lagoon. We watch from the perspective of the kids as the event plays out, with their reaction to the Mosasaur chomping on the guy at the last moment mimicking how many had felt when they saw it on theater screens in 2018.

It doesn’t stop there. Entertainment Weekly’s article continues with additional anecdotes regarding Dr. Wu’s return to the island with a group of mercenaries and more. However, the most interesting details are about how this series ties into what lies ahead for ‘Dominion’, the second upcoming ‘Jurassic World’ sequel. Trevorrow explains:

“There are connections that we’re making for sure […] When you see ‘Dominion’, it will be clear that it takes place on the same timeline and in the same world as our show.”

This admission certainly makes ‘Camp Cretaceous’ much more of an important show than many may have guessed. While some can argue until the skies are gray that it is only “soft canon”, this is still an incredibly entertaining way to tie in new elements of the same story that we would have never gotten otherwise.

Trevorrow continues further, expressing just how mapped out the story for ‘Camp Cretaceous’ is:

“We do have a beginning, middle, and an end for it […] I certainly wouldn’t want anyone to think that we don’t have a plan. We do, and there is an ending in sight.”

Given that ‘Dominion’ has already finished filming, and the story for this television series is already set, it would appear that there will certainly be many more connections ahead that will blend the stories of the film and the show into one (hopefully) coherent whole. More ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Score Teases from Michael Giacchino & Colin Trevorrow!

Both Michael Giacchino and Colin Trevorrow have enriched social media timelines with looks behind the scenes of the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ scoring process over the last couple of weeks. The teases were strictly in photo form, but as of today both Giacchino and Trevorrow have shared the very first audio snippets from the new film!

First, Giacchino:

Giacchino’s audio tease features a calm and rather affecting full orchestra rendition of the main theme from ‘Jurassic World’. The wooden T. rex from past photos makes an appearance along with the full orchestra in London via Zoom in the background. The camera pans down to reveal two partial orchestral score pages from the recording session. It’s really satisfying to hear the main musical theme returning for this film. The nature and dynamics of the music in this tease could lend themselves to a solemn scene somewhere in the film, or perhaps a majestic scene featuring a dinosaur landscape.

Next, Trevorrow shared a tease of his own:

Trevorrow’s audio tease is an entirely different story. The video features him playing what looks to be Dark Souls III with a recording from Giacchino’s new ‘Dominion’ score serving as the music for the video game. The music in this tease is starkly different from that of Giacchino’s post. It features jarring strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion musically punching and stabbing in a truly terrifying way. It is reminiscent of Bernard Hermann’s ‘Psycho’ score and also composer Igor Stravinsky’s wild musical works. Giacchino has previously said that these two composers were major influences for his ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ score. This music is clearly meant for a horrifying moment in the film. It’s exciting to hear these musical styles and influences returning for ‘Dominion’ after building through the first and second ‘Jurassic World’ films.

Giacchino also teased that the haunting main theme from ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ might make an appearance in Dominion’s score:

Most importantly, Giacchino shared that the scoring process for ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ has been completed!

The process was slightly different and took longer than normal in order to observe safety protocols, but Giacchino’s team along with Trevorrow and everyone at Abbey Road got the job done. Giacchino even sent everyone at Abbey Road cupcakes to thank them for their hard work:

The completion of the scoring process and these musical teases for ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ are very exciting. This is a huge step towards the completion of the film and release next summer. Music is an integral part of the Jurassic franchise and we can’t wait to see and hear more from the score! Michael Giacchino Teases Scoring ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ in London!

Composer Michael Giacchino has shared what is likely the first of many teases for the scoring process of Jurassic World: Dominion. It comes in the form of a photo of an orchestral score page (with only a few notes visible) in his Los Angeles studio.

While Giacchino is observing, monitoring, and participating in the process from L.A., the orchestral musicians are recording remotely in London. Looking closely at the photo, recording seems to be taking place at Abbey Road. It’s clear that the very best in recording and visual technology is being used to synchronize the scoring process.

According to Giacchino, the London musicians are spread out between two separate studios (likely within Abbey Road) to ensure proper social distancing and safety measures are in place.

What is very cool about this tease is that Colin Trevorrow himself represents the “boots on the ground” for Giacchino at the studio in London. It’s exciting to see this kind of artistic collaboration happening over great distances, and amazing that it is possible. While the incredible musicians in London create the score, Trevorrow and Giacchino discuss and produce the score despite being thousands of miles apart.

Giacchino later added a progress update to his thread with the top of another orchestral score page. The musical cue fits perfectly into the world of Jurassic with the title “Alan For Granted.”

As far as what is happening musically in the first photo, it is a bit hard to tell. There don’t seem to be any discernible Jurassic musical themes, which is probably purposeful on Giacchino’s part. The top of the orchestral score isn’t clear, but the string section, harp, and piano that are visible on the page seem to be playing rather dissonant, incidental music. This could be heard in a moment between musical themes or perhaps even in a frightening or suspenseful moment. The musical portion of the second photo is silent (at least on the visible page), but that title is truly great and very intriguing.

Introducing ‘Jurassic World Beyond the Gates’ – Live Now on Target.com!

Something is coming, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you! Jack De La Mare and I have been hard at work on an exciting partnership with Jurassic World and Target to bring you Beyond the Gates – a new collectors focused web-series where we will be revealing all new Jurassic products, while digging into the DNA that brought the items to life. 

Not too long ago Universal began discussions about this unique collaboration, and we hit the ground running to help design a show format that we hope excites you as much as it does us, from the fans for the fans. Our friends at Universal, Mattel, and Target shared our excitement and helped support us every step along the way as we began to play in this expansive Jurassic toybox, creating this little show. 

We were given the keys, and a chance to not only to take the Jeep and drive – but to custom design it from the ground up. We worked with a handful of talented artists – including  Lukas Vagt, Matt Henderson and Caleb Burnett – to support hatching the series, and evolve Beyond The Gates from concept to reality. This collaborative process has been a dream, and every party involved has been crucial in bringing this vision to life. 

Today (February 17th) the first episode of Beyond the Gates made its debut exclusively on Target.com, with subsequent episodes to follow the third week of every month. Every episode feature your first look at all-new, upcoming Jurassic World reveals – and upon their reveal, they will become available for pre-order directly at Target.com. 

Universal and ourselves not only want to use Beyond the Gates to share exclusive official content, but also to better inform the fans and collectors what is coming, when it will be available, while giving them a reliable way to secure those items for their collection before those opportunities go extinct. On top of that, we wanted to use this opportunity to let you hear directly from the masterminds who helped design the toys while taking a look at the development and evolution of the items via concept art,  prototypes, and more! 

The first episode of Beyond the Gates is here, and features a look at two long anticipated Amber Collection dinosaurs from the original Jurassic  Park trilogy, accompanied by the expertise of Mattel’s own Chandra Hicks.

Jurassic World: Dominion’s Pandemic Production Inspires A Netflix Comedy In Judd Apatow’s “The Bubble”

Thanks to Collider & The Hollywood Reporter, we have discovered a very strange result of Jurassic World: Dominion‘s production during the pandemic: apparently it’s rife for comedy.

If you weren’t aware, the film’s production was halted at the start of the pandemic last year. When filming resumed, it was under a much stricter regiment than any of the film’s cast and crew had likely ever been part of. They were all forced to quarantine with each other at the UK production location and… well everyone’s seen The Shining, right? Perhaps no one chased anybody with an axe (that we’re aware of), but you can imagine the dread of isolation mixed with plenty of COVID tests. Not sure which would be scarier.

Apparently, an unnamed member of Jurassic World: Dominion‘s production told all the delicious details of the quarantine to actress Leslie Mann (Cable Guy, This Is 40). She just happens to be the wife of comedy writer/producer/director icon Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Freaks & Geeks, Undeclared), who of course also heard what she had been told. Well, something went off in Judd’s mind that led him to believe the situation was funny enough to be made into a Netflix comedy.

The film is titled: The Bubble. No doubt it is in reference to the bubble everyone was forced to be in during the production. Directing from a script Judd co-wrote with Pam Brady (Hamlet 2), the film has an impressive all-star cast, featuring:

Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman 1984), Karen Gillan (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle), Maria Bakalova (Borat 2), Fred Armisen (SNL, Anchorman), David Duchovny (X-Files, Twin Peaks), Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Shaun Of The Dead), and Keegan-Michael Key (Toy Story 4, Parks & Recreation). Leslie Mann will also star, along with her daughter Iris Apatow (This Is 40, Love, Funny People).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be about a fictional film production where:

“Gillan and Pascal will play the made-up franchise’s stars while Mann and Duchovny will play a once-married acting duo now forced to quarantine under one roof. Netflix insiders, however, say the movie has no connection to Dominion.”

While neither the story nor the cast are directly related to any of the Jurassic films, it is interesting to note that David Duchovny was once married to Jurassic Park 3 actress Téa Leoni (Amanda Kirby) from 1997-2014. The fact that he is playing part of a “once-married acting duo now forced to quarantine under one roof” is already amusing just by knowing this fact alone. While no one from Jurassic World: Dominion was ever married to one another (as far as I can investigate), Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler) and Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm) were once engaged between 1995-1997. Could Mann and Duchovny’s characters be inspired by some uncomfortable scenarios between Dern and Goldblum? The fire is stoked!

While there is no release date yet set for Judd Apatow’s new comedy, The Bubble, rest assured we will be curious to see just how much is real and just how much is simply good, tasty fiction.

Sam Neill On Jurassic World: Dominion Feeling Like A “Six-Hour Movie” Plus More About Grant & Sattler

In Variety’s new article, Sam Neill (Alan Grant) reveals a juicy comment about the length and scope of the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion film:

“It’s going be a big film. [Director] Colin Trevorrow has that childlike sense of wonder, playfulness and inventiveness that [Steven] Spielberg has. We really shot a six-hour movie. We were all very gung-ho.”

Before you start spreading the news that Jurassic World: Dominion will be a six-hour movie, let’s remember that this film has had a lengthy and unusual production, which Neill touches on later in the article:

“No one knew whether ‘Jurassic’ would continue, be postponed or be abandoned altogether […] [When we resumed] it was somewhere between rehab, summer camp and Easter break. We were compulsorily in each other’s company and much richer for it. If we were shooting in L.A., we’d go off to our different caves every night, but we got to know each other so much better.”

Given the delays and incredible circumstances, it is quite easy for everyone on the production to feel like they had made such a long film. As any Jurassic fan will also tell you, things always end up on the cutting room floor as a film is shaped into its final form. However, given the scope of this “big” film and his statement, this could mean Jurassic World: Dominion will likely be the longest film of the series. And on the chance Neill is being entirely literal, then will we see the film split in two, ala Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame? It’s entirely possible.

The article also lightly touches upon Neill’s character of Alan Grant and the relationship (or lack of) between him and Ellie Sattler (performed by Laura Dern):

“[Alan Grant is the] same character, but different world, different times. Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler haven’t seen each other for some time, so you’ll see how that pans out.”

This likely nixes the fan theories of Grant and Sattler somehow ending up together before the start of the film. At the beginning of Jurassic Park 3, it was clear that Grant and Sattler did not stay together or raise their own family as it was set up to happen in the first Jurassic Park. This creative choice on the franchise’s story upset many fans, but director/co-writer Colin Trevorrow appears to not be retconning it for Jurassic World: Dominion based on Neill’s comment. Still, there is a chance that the story of the new film could play out in favor of what fans wanted all along, or perhaps it really will stick to what some consider as a realistic endgame of their relationship.

More information leads to more questions than answers about the story and length of Jurassic World: Dominion. Given that we have over a year to wait for this epic installment of the series, expect more tantalizing details to come!

‘Jurassic World: Aftermath’ Out Now on Oculus VR Platforms (and We’ve Been Playing It)!

At long last, a Jurassic World game that is not mobile-exclusive or a park builder has arrived! ‘Jurassic World: Aftermath’ is an immersive VR survival adventure game hitting platforms like the recently released Oculus Quest 2, featuring plenty of Dino-action, and compelling storytelling.

We’ve been playing this game the last couple of days, and will have plenty of exciting content hitting our YouTube channel soon – but until then, here are some of the basics you need to know:

‘Jurassic World: Aftermath’ is set 2 years after the events of Jurassic World, prior to events of Fallen Kingdom. You play as Sam, a voiceless protagonist serving as an avatar to the players, who was hired for an illegal asset retrieval mission on Isla Nublar. You were hired by Dr. Mia Everett, an ex Jurassic World geneticist who worked under Dr. Henry Wu. Everett accompanies you to the island and watches your every move via a body camera, all while speaking to and advising you as you explore (think Halo’s Cortana to Master Chief – only if the Chiefs main talent was hacking computers, and hiding in storage lockers).

Dr. Everett’s past with Dr. Wu comes into play throughout the story, as their time working at the park was mired with admiration, tension, and spite. Working on the Velociraptor genetics program together, they eventually butted heads and had a falling out – which could mean life or death on the island as Everett tries to salvage the mysterious operation, and figure out just who she can call for help.

This game is lore rich, with fantastic voice acting by Laura Bailey (Everett), BD Wong (Wu), and Jeff Goldblum (Malcolm). The story has everything to do with Velociraptors, and there is a lot to discover within – including some reveals that may have relevance in 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion. There is a lot to unpack there, and we will have more in-depth coverage soon!

The gameplay is focused on navigating the facilities (including the canonically important, and expanded universe favorite Geothermal Power Plant), getting certain system back online to unlock doors, access computers, and try to survive – all while dodging three Velociraptors. If you’re wondering where these new raptors came from, why they look different, and why they behave differently, worry not – the game has compelling answers for all those questions within the story.

This game has zero combat elements: your tool is your wit, using computer systems to distract the raptors as you crawl through vents, take cover behind tables, or hide within lockers all while hacking into computer systems, or looking for items needed to progress. You also have a flashlight, which you can use to spook the occasional Dilophosaurus, which will try ambush you from ventilation openings. All of this leads to exciting ‘raptors in the kitchen’ like moments of cat and mouse tactics, much like Alien Isolation at a smaller scale and budget.

While this games budget is notably smaller, the voice acting is top tier, as is the music. The story is incredibly compelling – and certainly seems to be canon – but shorter, and clearly episodic, with an expansion coming in 2021. The cel shaded visuals looks crisp, though I really can’t help but wonder if a more realistic style would have been better positioned for the VR format. After-all, it’s all about breaking the confines of a screen and bringing that world to life for the player. Thankfully, the gameplay is well polished, and that’s what really matters.

If you have a VR capable device, or are planning to pick something like the Oculus Quest 2 already, this game is not to be missed for Jurassic story fans (Side bar: also pick up Vader Immortal and SuperHot — they really are must-haves for the VR platform. They made me a believer.). If you’re waiting for more information, fair play as well! Sam Neill Confirms: GIGANOTOSAURUS to Debut in ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’

Jurassic World: Dominion won’t hit theaters until June 2022, but we just got a large and very exciting update. While on the press tour for his upcoming movie ‘Rams’, Sam Neill (aka Dr. Alan Grant, the dinosaur man himself) revealed a giant surprise: the new big bad dinosaur of the third Jurassic World film will be none other than Giganotosaurus.

In the interview, Neill says,

“I’ve just had the last five months working with dinosaurs, and it was really fun to do. We have a dinosaur called a Giganotosaurus … Apparently that’s the biggest dinosaur that’s ever been discovered. And, you know, it could eat you in a second if the guys on the controls didn’t like you.”

So, not only is a massive new dinosaur making its entrance into the Jurassic franchise, a full-size animatronic will make its presence even more terrifying in the film. As Neill said, the Giganotosaurus could swallow him whole if the team of puppeteers were feeling particularly murderous.

While Giganotosaurus has not yet appeared in a Jurassic Park or Jurassic World film, it is not without its heritage within the franchise. Most notably, early Indominus Rex designs, then known as the Malusaurus, looked strikingly similar to the towering titan.

The Giganotosaurus also appeared in early concept art for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

Giganotosaurus was a Carcharodontosaur, one of the largest theropods to ever walk the earth. It lived roughly 98 million years ago, during the late Cretaceous period, and roamed what is now Argentina. Most modern estimates have it as large as a Tyrannosaur, though many posit that it grew even larger. Giganotosaurus didn’t live in the same time period or geographical area as T. rex, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this giant dinosaur crosses paths with a T. rex or another species now that it’s joining the roster of de-extinct creatures in the Jurassic franchise.

As for who cloned this dinosaur, we’re not sure, as it’s never appeared on InGen’s lists. However, its DNA contributing to the Indominus Rex suggests they at least had incomplete genomes of the animal. That being said, we firmly believe this animal is not from InGen’s lab, and is likely BioSyn’s crowned gem.

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Officially Wraps Shooting

After 18 months of filming amidst stringent Covid-19 safety protocols and countless delays, Jurassic World Dominion has officially wrapped. Director Colin Trevorrow took to social media today announcing the news and praising the hard work his cast and crew contributed to the project.

While speaking with reporters with Deadline, Trevorrow said “there are a lot of emotions” involved with wrapping this movie. He says he is grateful to everyone who worked on the film and felt they all “made a family.” “I’m not sure I can put it into words,” continues Trevorrow. “It has been remarkable. Our crew and our cast has been so resilient. All producers have worked around the clock to make it the best it can be. It has been inspiring.”

Dominion was famously the first major studio film to go back into production despite the ongoing pandemic. In an effort to promote safety and keep workers healthy, Universal spent roughly 7 million dollars on increased safety protocols alone.

These precautions included: 1,800 Covid-related signs across production studios, 150 hand sanitizer stations, and a commissioned private medical facility overseeing the entire project. Over 40,000 Covid-19 tests were administered with only .25% returning positive over the course of the shoot.

In a bit of rumor news, the Deadline article also reports that newcomer DeWanda Wise “could have a big role in future instalments.” What those installments look like is anyone’s guess at this point, but it leaves us hopeful for the future of Jurassic storytelling. The film is set to release June 10, 2022. Trevorrow has also been notably gracious to fans around Thanksgiving in previous years, so be on the lookout for a drop of potential footage around then.
