Michael Giacchino’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Soundtrack Releases June 15!

Michael Giacchino is no stranger to the Jurassic franchise. Before composing the music for Jurassic World he wrote and composed the soundtracks for both Jurassic Park: Warpath and The Lost World’s PlayStation game – which are still considered fan favorites by many.

It was no surprise that the composer, who handles multiple projects a year, would return to the franchise.

With the sequel headed for US cinemas on June 22nd, Michael Giacchino’s score will be available for purchase and digital download on June 15th! The date can be seen on the Amazon listing for the soundtrack but unfortunately no other details have been revealed.

Over the past few weeks during the scoring sessions for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom the composer shared a number of images and videos from inside the studio, revealing new music and the return of key themes and more importantly, revealing his excitement to be back and working on Jurassic.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theatres on June 22nd in the US and earlier in the UK and Europe – and you’ll be able to purchase Michael Giacchino’s score on June 15th!

Japanese ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Trailer Reveals New Footage!

The Japanese edition of the final Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer has made its way online, and it may be the best one yet!

As always, going forward it’s best to understand that there are potential spoilers in the footage, and if you want to go in blind, you should look no further. That said, this doesn’t really show any new scenes, but rather extended looks at already revealed scenes, and is quite a well put together trailer.

Check it out below!

Overall, this trailer hits all the right notes: the beauty of the island and dinosaurs, the danger and adventure that comes with the territory, and the scares and mysteries that preside over that entire experience. It alludes to what else the story has to offer, without outright spoiling it (as the ‘Final Trailer’ did). It teases the Indoraptor without fully giving him away.

While I appreciated some of the epic shots from the final trailer, and they no doubt won over my excitement, I vastly prefer this trailer to it. If only I could erase some of the other spoilers best left for theaters from memory.

New ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ TV Spot Features More Baryonyx Action!

Following the final trailer, and the Chinese trailer, even more new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom footage has hit the web!

Of course, if you’d like to remain as spoiler free going into the latest Jurassic Park sequel, it may be best to avoid watching the latest TV spots. However, with that in mind, this trailer doesn’t really showcase anything new – we always knew Claire and Franklin would escape the Baryonyx, and had already seen them climbing for the hatch in the Super Bowl trailer.

Considering this is a pretty par the course escape, with no big Deus Rex Machina surprises (that we know of), it’s pretty standard trailer stuff (unlike the final trailer giving away far too much, to a frustrating degree – but hey, it made me incredibly excited!)

Give the latest spot a watch below.

I wasn’t sold on the Baryonyx design from the first trailer, but aside from the super thick jaw, it appears that the angle was misleading. The Baryonyx looks great in this latest TV spot, and is quickly becoming one of my favorite Jurassic designs. Hopefully that trend continues going into the film!

Circling back to the note of spoilers, I do hope the marketing refrains from giving away more of the plot. They have already outlined the basic plot, and given away some huge set pieces shots I’d prefer to have seen in theaters first. Some of my favorite modern film advertisement was for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, showcasing just how effective expertly crafted ‘less is more’ trailers and TV spots can be.

What are your thoughts on this latest TV spot, and do you think marketing has shown too much? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for the latest news!

Check Out This Awesome ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Concept Art!

Art finds a way.

While Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom doesn’t release in theaters until June, the first official look at its art was released in a Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray set. The art itself focuses on 4 key scenes, all present in the trailers: the park ruins, the Baryonyx bunker, Mosasaurus attack, and the Indoraptor auction.

Take a look at the beautiful art below, and the corresponding scenes to compare – huge thanks to Dan on Twitter for sharing it!

With any luck, a Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom art book will be released, which is something that has been requested for 2015’s film numerous times but never came to fruition. Judging from the latest trailer, the amount of stunning artwork must be overflowing, and it would be incredible to take a behind the scenes look at the design process.

If you’re interested in picking up this concept art yourself, look no further than this set on Amazon UK:

China Gets an Alternate Final Trailer With Extended Fallen Kingdom Footage!

Yesterday, Jurassic fans were treated with the third and final trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom which gave us an even closer look at the story and characters in the movie.

Following the trend of almost every other large franchise these days, a new extended trailer has just debuted in China with even more spoiler-heavy footage. Check it out below:

With new looks at Rafe Spall, Ted Levine Toby Jones and BD Wong as well as a few more beautiful establishing shots sprinkled in, this trailer is less of an extended version of the trailer we received yesterday and more of a creation unto itself.

I personally feel like this trailer is considerably stronger in the narrative department than previous trailers, laying out a clear and honest look at the film we will see in June. Though some might consider it a little too concise.

We have compiled over 90 screenshots from yesterday’s trailer in glorious HD for your viewing pleasure.

Which trailer do you prefer? Are you back aboard the Fallen Kingdom hype train? Sound off below!

Jurassic World 3 Will Be a Jurassic Park Style “Science Thriller”

Entertainment Weekly continues to be full of news today in regards to the Jurassic franchise. In addition to all the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom news and photos, they also touched on the next installment when they spoke with Colin Trevorrow about what we might expect with Jurassic World 3. It was announced on March 30th that Trevorrow would return to the director’s chair for Jurassic World 3.

Trevorrow told EW that he has grown to love and cherish the value of the gift he has been given with the franchise over the past few years. He also states that Steven Spielberg asked him to return to direct the final installment of the new trilogy.

Trevorrow calls Jurassic World 3 a “science thriller” and also confims that the characters of Owen Grady and Claire Dearing will return and it sounds like some new characters in Fallen Kingdom may play a role in the next installment.

Trevorrow, who is currently writing Jurassic World 3 with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising) is mum on plot details but does say the final film will still feature Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard). He adds, “But there’s other characters who we’ll meet in Fallen Kingdom you’ll realize are major characters.”

Trevorrow also says the next film will be most close in tone to Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original. Reveals the director, “If I could contextualize each film, I would say Jurassic World was an action adventure, Fallen Kingdom is kind of a horror suspense film, and Jurassic World 3 will be a science thriller in the same way that Jurassic Park was.

Jurassic World 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 11, 2021.

Entertainment Weekly Debuts New Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Issue Loaded With Awesome Content!

Do you think the Indoraptor enjoys ice cream?

Now, that may sound like a weird opening, but Entertainment Weekly and Chris Pratt made sure to answer that question with their fun new photo shoot from the ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ content days, where a 1:1 Indoraptor statue adorned the set. While the comedic picture is just for fun, it is perhaps our clearest look at the Indoraptor yet, revealing its menacing expression with intricate detail.

In a preview from their issue EW has teased an explosive and tense sequel, pushing Jurassic to new territory:

Bayona’s Kingdom is perhaps the most ambitious Jurassic film to date, with a genre-shifting twist halfway through the film: The island is destroyed and the action moves to an enormous American estate where characters are trapped indoors with a rampaging new terror, the Indoraptor. Think Jurassic meets Panic Room. “The first half, you have a whole dinosaur movie on the island, so you have what you expect from a Jurassic movie,” says Bayona. “Then the second half moves to a totally different environment that feels more suspenseful, darker, claustrophobic, and even has this kind of gothic element, which I love.” The only other time the Jurassic franchise has seen the dinosaurs leave their tropical locales was the climactic moments of 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, when the T. rex stampeded San Diego. Adds Pratt, “At the end of the day, we’re all trying to make something that will be part of the Jurassic empire and tonally match the previous movies, but we’re going off in a new direction.”

That also meant the shoot was more physically demanding than the previous installment. “We upped the stunt game,” says Pratt. The actors ran, swam, and screamed for months during the production which shot in both the United Kingdom and Hawaii.”

Perhaps most excitingly, Entertainment Weekly revealed a new image from the film, likely from the upcoming trailer, which shows the Indoraptor stalking Owen, Claire, and the mysterious newcomer Maisie inside of Benjamin Lockwood’s estate. This picture really sells the terrying and inquisitive nature of the new hybrid dinosaur, and is very fun callback to Tim hiding from the Velociraptors in the kitchen in Jurassic Park.

Hold on to your butts, the new trailer drops online very soon.
