Jurassic World: The Exhibition Brings Its Worldwide Tour Back to North America!

    Image via CityNeon Holdings

The dinosaurs of Jurassic World: The Exhibition are coming back to the United States to continue their worldwide tour – beginning in Dallas, Texas! Produced by CityNeon Holdings, the show had its most recent stops in Chengdu and Guangzhou, China and Seoul, South Korea.

Watch the announcement from CityNeon below:

Jurassic World: The Exhibition began its first iteration in Melbourne, Australia in 2016 and continued across the globe in cities like Paris, Madrid, Philadelphia, and Chicago. It covers over 20,000 square feet and features full-size animatronic dinosaurs visitors can see up-close. The latest iteration of the exhibition features exciting new features and updates.

    Image via CityNeon Holdings

For starters, many of the dinosaur animatronics have been upgraded to film accuracy – most notably the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Blue the Velociraptor. There are also brand new dinosaurs joining the show: a full-size Carnotaurus, Stygimoloch, and Ankylosaurus.

    Image via CityNeon Holdings

Perhaps the most exciting update to the exhibition is the addition of a “baby dino encounter.” In this section, guests will be able to see and touch baby dinosaurs with the guidance of expert Jurassic World scientists. This includes a baby Parasaurolophus, Stygimoloch, and yes, even Bumpy the Ankylosaurus.

True to the world of Jurassic, guests will also encounter a full size Brachiosaurus and Triceratops along their journey. They’ll also see the inner workings of the Jurassic World laboratory, and come face to face with the terrifying Indominus Rex.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition is truly carrying on John Hammond’s dream for the world to see. It’s starting its return to North America in Dallas, Texas but is expected to continue with stops across the U.S. Where would you like to see Jurassic World: The Exhibition stop next?

The long awaited animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will finally be released tomorrow, September 18th, on Netflix. After you check out the new series, you can go into the writer’s room with a special panel from New York Comic Con. The event will take place October 8-11 and the panel will be released on the New York Comic Con YouTube channel.

Join executive producers Colin Trevorrow and Scott Kreamer, consulting producer Zack Stentz, story editor Josie Campbell, and staff writers Sheela Shrivinas, Rick Williams and Bethany Johnson as they take you inside the writers’ room of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

Make sure to check out our review of the series and hear all our opinions and thoughts. And listen in to our latest podcast where we break the show down episode by episode:

Also please let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below!

Colin Trevorrow Talks ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ on Comic-Con@Home Panel

The Directors on Directing panel released today as part of San Diego Comic Con’s Comic-Con@Home. Colin Trevorrow was one of the featured directors on the panel who discussed their past, present, and future projects.

In the panel, he touches on ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, and ‘Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock’. Check out the video below!

Around the 5:00 mark he talks about making the emotional case for “Jurassic Park 4”.

At 11:50 he talks about meeting with Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum and discussing them reprising their roles for ‘Dominion’.

At 18:06 The announcement that ‘Dominion’ would resume filming (this panel was recorded in June) and the challenges they are facing. During the hiatus the script wasn’t changed much and they were able to “put several sequences through the visual effects pipeline”.

At 24:00 Each ‘Jurassic’ movie getting more practical and ‘Dominion’ will have more animatronics than they had in the previous two. The digital extensions for animatronics have been improving so they will be able to match the textures on the animatronics. All of the dinosaurs have lighting references so they can see how light reacts with the skin and the environment. (How cool would it be to see the room with all the dinosaur references?!)

At 29:10 ‘Battle at Big Rock’ was shot handheld in VR by Colin.

At 33:27 changing from ‘Jurassic Park‘ to ‘Jurassic World’ took some convincing.

At 56:50 Paul McCartney visited the studio while Colin and Michael Giacchino were recording the soundtrack for ‘Jurassic World’.

Those are all the ‘Jurassic’ related clips, but I recommend watching the whole panel as Colin, Robert Rodriguez, and Joseph Kosinski give some interesting insights into the world of directing. There’s even a cool moment for Star Wars fans towards the end.

Mattel Reveals Jurassic Park John Hammond Toy Exclusive to San Diego Comic Con 2019!

At long last, John Hammond can welcome you to Jurassic Park in toy form. Just announced, Mattel has revealed their Jurassic World Legacy Collection John Hammond pack. Sporting incredible Jurassic Park art in the form of the iconic gates as a sleeve, the packaging then opens up to reveal Hammond sealed inside a Legacy Collection box, packed alongside an egg incubator with the hatching baby Velociraptor.

Check it out below, and read on for how to pre-order yours!

Relive nostalgic, iconic film moments from Jurassic Park with the Jurassic World Legacy Collection John Hammond action figure! This exclusive character captures the franchise legacy with movie-authentic decoration and deluxe detail. The John Hammond action figure is inspired by the original Jurassic Park film and captures his innovative spirit, his caring role as a grandfather and his high expectations for his theme park on Isla Nublar. Action figure is approximately 3.190 inches tall and includes a cane and a stand with dinosaur eggs. Take home the excitement of Jurassic Park with this exciting John Hammond action figure!

This is the first time ever John Hammond has been given a toy, as not even the classic Jurassic Park Kenner line released the iconic founder of the park which started it all. Now, 26 years later, life has found a way! However, this toy will not be easy to come by – while you can pre-order it now, you must attend San Diego Comic Con 2019 to verify your purchase. There is a limit of 5 per attendee, and the attendee must show their 2019 San Diego Comic-Con badge, their ID, and order confirmation at Mattel booth #2945 on July 17th-21st. The name on the SDCC attendee badge and ID must match the name on the order. Order will be shipped after the event ends.

I know the limited availability is a bittersweet happenstance, as this toy has been long anticipated and requested, and will surely be incredibly difficult to track-down at affordable prices for non-attendees. However, I’m absolutely thrilled that this item exists – the classic Jurassic Park packaging is gorgeous, and the best I’ve ever seen for Jurassic, and the John Hammond figures likeness to the late Richard Attenborough is incredible. It’s worth noting that what stops this set from being perfect is the baby Velociraptor – for some reason Mattel thinks the classic Jurassic Park raptors were green — they were not. But even with that coloring snafu, this set is incredibly exciting, and sure to be an iconic centerpiece to many collections.

Are you attending SDCC 2019, and if so, will you be pre-ordering the exclusive John Hammond toy? Further, with this toy now a reality, what other exclusive and longtime requested characters would you like to see brought back to life? Sound off in the comments below, and as always, stay tuned to Jurassic Outpost!
